When Swaps Rock
Kim at handeyecrafts had a seasonal swap.
It was very fun.
I won't show you my swap that I sent to my person because she hasn't received it yet.
Yesterday, I got mine in the mail.
Teabird17.blogspot
is a retired librarian and a spinner.
She sent me her handspun yarn!
She sent magnet page clips and she sent
darling fox notepads and mini purse.
Perhaps the reason I keep frogging is that I need to knit some fingerless with that handspun asap!
She suggested fingerless and so it is, or maybe it is a hat...see here I go again.
I am just a mini mess about my knitting lately.
I cast on, I knit for a bit, I rip it out.
I don't let it bother me.
The yarn and I just haven't talked enough yet I guess.
I'm under no deadlines.
I'm retired .....ahhhhh, I say that many times a day and smile each time.
Lets see:
Today's I'm ripping out the last Attempt with the Sheep and wool yarn. I love the Ridged Wrap pattern but this is not they yarn for it. How lovely that yarn is and forgiving. It rewinds perfectly as if I haven't played with it 3 times yet!
I'm ripping out the Seaman's scarf with Liberty wool that I worked on during the Hawks game last night...It is not right for that yarn either...
and the socks I started a week ago.....meh. They aren't going to be socks either.
Is it the time change?
Is it the change in weather?
Whatever! We shall knit no wine before its time...
maybe just maybe its the wine...

My mother thought me silly, but I've always felt that yarns and patterns have to want to work together. Of all the knitters I know, and have known, my "twin," Kim in Oregon, is the best at matching yarn to pattern. It's rather astounding.
Keep frogging until the yarn AND the knitter are in sync.
Handspun is fun to knit with because it has a mind of it's own. Just don't get too fancy with the stitches. It likes to be the center of attention.
Your swap gift is TOO cute. Enjoy!
