Poncho in the Heat

 I am so not complaining about the weather.  I love it.  Sure it is humid, but my bones are not frozen.  The windows are open. The porch is heavenly.  Storms excite me when they are not severe.  So this is my bulky knitting for our first 90 degree day of the year.  

 Call me kooky.  You are not the first! It is called the Ribbed Poncho and that's probably enough information for now. I dont' expect a deluge of requests for a super bulky yarn knit up in summer.  I totally want this ready for campfire nights.  

 I got gauge first.  I took the stitches off the needles last night to check the size and it is perfect ladies!  150 stitches are not hard to wrangle in super bulky wool ease.  
 Fezzy boy is on patrol on the porch. He was unafraid of the storms last night.  He wants those chipmunks and birdies and bunnies in the yard.  Once night falls he wants those flying insects that come to the screen. 
These Irises are having their best showing ever!  Did I tell you though, I lost 5 rose bushes over winter?  Ah well.  I planted zinnias instead.  By seed. They are a no brainer and I adore them in August and September.

Love your Iris - ours are really abundant this year too. And Fezzik - so handsome! Does he talk to the creatures? Our cat does -- talks to all the birds and apparently lures our the mice...this morning there was a mouse, belly-up, in the yard just off our patio. Hopefully my husband will have removed it by the time I get home. Love your poncho - that will be perfect in the Fall.

I am knitting in this humidity that we have. I have to keep myself busy on top of tending to my aging parents who have serious health issues. Knitting helps keep me sane.
I walked into their condo and turned on the air -- a bit hot.

Still a tiny bit chilly here, so transport your thoughts to my unscreened back deck or open front porch. Your bulky knit would help keep the chill away as we chat and sip hot tea. . . P.S. I have squirrels in my yard to entertain Fezzik, too.

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh...sweet Fezzik. He and Giroux could be great hunting pals. Giroux is a superior lizard hunter. He does bugs too. UGH!

The poncho looks like it's made a great start. New socks on the needles for me this morning.

Ah! I love pictures of Fessik. He looks so sweet and regal at the same time. I knit all of the time in all seasons, but we are blessed to have very low humidity out here in the Northwest. At least where we live. That poncho looks like perfect campfire wearing attire.

I think your poncho will be perfect for sitting around a summer campfire.. then it will smell like smoke and remind you of the fun. Smoky grey! I had a good year for irises too.. but boy did they go fast. ((hugs)), Teresa :-)

I knit a sweater last year while the temps were in the nineties. I say go where the inspiration takes you! Your cat is beautiful. I had a ginger tabby once named Zooey. He was such a love.

It did get hot quick didn't it. I thought I was going to melt today. AC is now on because that humidity is unbearable. It is hard to get excited by wool in the summer but if you don't you won't be ready for fall which is not that far away-thank goodness. I am a cold weather gal. I spent most of today in an ice rink wearing Lopi mittens and loved it.
I love zinnias. I can't wait to see yours!

Wait till that poncho gets a little bigger! I'm knitting a worsted weight sweater and I can only work on it in the mornings when it's cooler (We don't have AC!)
Fezzik looks very alert. Our cats love it when they can hang out on the screened porch -- so many sights, sounds and smells!

I dislike heat and hate humidity - but, I am not complaining either. The change in weather is welcoming and it feels like summer time. Love your poncho and I bet you get a tad sweaty under it, unless it's early in the morning :)

I knit year round with any yarn I like, bulky, wool it doesn't matter. That is why I have air conditioning.

Fezzik is soooo handsome. I'm hoping my Rupert grows nice and big.

Love the irises. I lost one rosebush this year, and totally not the one I thought I would. I lost mellow yellow. She looked like she was going to come back then just died off.

I'm waiting until the sales start then I will go see what's left. I'd like another yellow one, but I'd love a white or a red one too.

 Is that vague enough for you?  It has been a too busy complicated Spring.  I had no energy to blog.  All is well now, so I can share some things with you:   1. Insufficient Information

Dear buddy nurse and spay neuter pal Linda, came to visit yesterday.  We knitted. We laughed.  We shared books we are reading. She Showed me her scarf.  It looks like a shawl but it is a scarf. Here is her yarn choice. And the( OUCH) price.   It makes her happy to knit.  If Linda's happy I'm happy.  I dont' know the pattern and neither does she.  Her dog literally shredded her pattern.  She was at a point where she had memorized the easy part and she's nearly finished.  So there you go, anyone know the pattern? You are all so sweet about the move and the house.
