Not So Simple Woman's Thoughts for the Day
I am Remembering: I showed pumpkins like this last year to you.
They are so wonderfully carved each year by a Shelter Volunteer, I had to show them again. (after all, they carved them again)
I am Watching: Pie chase a motorized toy around the kitchen.
It's not a mouse, but everyday cannot be Disneyworld at our house.
I am planning: To make spaghetti and meatballs tonight.
Premade meatballs: angus beef in your grocer's freezer.
I am Knitting: what I was knitting yesterday and
the sequined berry yarn Trap. Katherine very kindly gifted me the fun yarn. It gets compliments wherever it goes, and its barely 6 inches long.
I am rejoicing: because today is the day I would have had to recertify for Neonatal
Resuscitation. I'm retired. I don't have to recertify.
I hated that test. I hated the written and the practical.
It is a necessary part of being a NICU nurse, but I am Rejoicing that I am retired. I waited for enough babies to be pushed or pulled into this world, praying they'd cry and be pink instead of the other. Most times it was good; sometimes it was awful. The worst kind of awful you can't even imagine.
Oh yeah, but this is about Rejoicing!
I am reading: The Day I Turned Uncool, by Dan Zevin.
I am laughing with each page.
I am hoping: that tomorrow's sunrise will be as spectacular as last Thursday's. It makes going to the shelter at 0600 even better when the sky is ablaze.
I am wishing: you a wonderful evening this very night!

Have a wonderful evening too. Mine includes some very relaxing knitting. :-)
That's a passel of pumpkins. Very pretty.
Can't wait to see the sequined Trap!
Heres to the comfort and happiness of spaghetti and meatballs and pretty sunrises.
PS: Remember when you recently bought the cat stand? well you inspired me to get one for our cats as well - and they love it! (I put some pics on my blog!!!)
Enjoy your week!

I know the awful you speak of. My poor sister had awful and it was truly awful. The sweet little lamb (full term, stillborn) would have been 30 this year and we all think about her everyday.
Love the pumpkins, carved and piled. Where is the trap photo though?
