Pie's Eyes and a New Sock Cast on
In knit news, I cast on with the yarn Al gave me for my birthday.
This yarn is so soft, so spongey and so pretty.
It is the colors of the ocean in Virginia Beach.
After I knit a new project, like the Coco Vest, going back to socks is like walking a familiar path in our woods nearby.
I instantly relax.
Now for the Black Cat news:
Pie had a visit with a veterinary
optho on Monday. Dr. Delgado at Blue Pearl in Northfield was just lovely. She was patient and so sweet to the every busy Pie.
Dr. Delgado diagnosed Pie with bilateral congenital cataracts.
They are obscuring 80% of her vision. She has a tiny bit of peripheral vision at this point.
The cataracts are growing rapidly.
The cataracts are inoperable. Seems cats and rabbits
develop brain tumors when they have their cataracts removed.
It is a complicated epithelial cell reaction...but that's the bottom line.
We want to keep her eyes if we can, but
if she has recurrent infections they will consider removing them.
So, in order to prevent that, we are giving her daily
non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drops.
Pie was sweet, somewhat cooperative during our hour exam,
and fell, atypically, asleep as soon as we got home.
She slept the rest of the day.
The Center has a separate kitty waiting room.
Here is Miss Pie enjoying time out the crate while we waited.
All in all a very informative helpful visit.
Channon was HUGELY helpful to me prior to the visit.
She helped me formulate great questions, as her Sissy has just one eye now and ongoing concerns.
Thanks Channon. The knit community is helpful in so many ways.
I never know what's around the bend, but odds are one of you has been down my path before and knows the bends!

I'm so glad that Pie has you to take care of her - she probably doesn't even think she has eye problems. And hopefully, they can be held at bay for a while. Give her a kiss from me.
Sweet little Pie looks so cute curled up on the chair in the Vet's office. She is an amazing little kitty to get along so well with her eye problems. I will be praying for her!
Love the socks and the yarn. Enjoy
Hugs to you Kathy,
Meredith
Blessings for Pie.
We're crossing paws that Pie keeps her eyes and has no additional complications.
Did she take the drop better today?
Love that yarn. =) blessings ~ tanna
