Why i like to make Holiday Christmas Stockings

1. You only have to make one!

2. Big gauge, few dropped stitiches

3. So many options for adding interest for the knitter each time.

4. This Ann Norling pattern (I changed the snowflake design to trees) is easy peasy.

5. Quick, I knit it in a week with not much time to knit.

6. You can keep it OR give it away.

7. I made this one more masculine.

8. It will hold a lot of loot!

9. This pattern knits flat until the heel flap.

10. Someone will be very happy with it!

Yes, someone will love it! It is very pretty and beautiful colors. Also, I like the knit flat aspect!

It's strange that in all my many years of knitting I have never knit a Christmas stocking.

I also love that a Christmas stocking is fewer stitches per round than a normal stocking, yet it never really gets fiddly. It's "smaller" than a regular sock but it's bigger.

I'm with you. I always get bored with the second sock of a pair. With Christmas stockings each one can be different sizes, colors and styles. Fun stuff.

 Is that vague enough for you?  It has been a too busy complicated Spring.  I had no energy to blog.  All is well now, so I can share some things with you:   1. I'm Making Bunny Rabbits

  These are the one square bunnies .  They are a free pattern on Rave1ry.  I'm bunny making to force spring to come.  I'm a1so taking it easy on my hands again.  The med we tried did keep my hands from shaking, but it was a med for a med. and that's crazy town.  I can contro1 a hook much better than need1es.  It wi11 have to suffice for now.  I'm enjoying your b1ogs and your Spring.  This time of year I so want to 1ive in a southern state.  But this Spring is a new one for me and I'm going to find a way to 1ove it.   IT may have just gotten to 50.   Degrees.  I have to run.  There's very ear1y yardwork to do.   The birds have 1eft a rotten mess of sunf1ower she11s under the feeders.  I hope it is not frozen!  Have you been switching things up in your neck of the woods?   I haven't forgotten you, b1og pa1s.  I 1ove seeing you on Instagram .

Do You Smile When You Knit???

I am pretty sure I smile when I knit.  I'm going to think about that today when I pick up the baby blanket in progress.  I am also pretty sure I cry when I knit; well, not really.  I have shed some tears over the years but they were way back.  I surely scowl when I drop a stitch.   A time lapse of knitters' faces would be interesting enough .... Tank, aka Helo, is starting to smile around here.  Just look into those aqua eyes......they make me smile all the time. He is half Siamese and all gorgeous.
