Some Knitting and Some Dinner Plans
Out of nowhere this weekend I knit part of a stole.
I picked up the Alpaca from the Festival and began an ITO stole.
I picked up the Alpaca from the Festival and began an ITO stole.
I was just fiddling around and I even dropped some stitches and picked them up like nobody's knit business.
Clearly the knit gods were up to some good.
I then pulled out my Lang Pareo cotton biggy yarn and knit a cowl.
To be fair, I had actually swatched this yarn on big wooden straights, so I was able to accurately make a pretty good guess.
Is that an oxymoron? Accurately pretty good?
I love it. I have more of this cotton stuff so Next time,
I'll cast on about 40 instead of 50 and I'll knit it again.
I used the BIGGEST circs I had.
Someone had put these HUGE, to quote a ridiculous politician,
Plastic circs in a swap.
They were perfect.
In two hours I had a cowl.
A cowl that does not itch...
And now my favorite fall dishes:
*Chili. I cheat and buy it at my grocery store.
*Wildrice stuffing as seen above
*Sweet Potato Chicken with orange juice and cooking sherry
*Turkey with gravy ...nuff said
*Crockpot pork chops
*Baked acorn squash
*Pumpkin cinnamon muffins
*Microwaved apples with cinnamon, cooled and mixed with granola
*Cream of Wheat for breakfast
and
Brisket.
Your fall favorites are????

This time of year...I'm loving pumpkin anything!
Those dishes sound delicious! Especially the biscuits. We make pears in the microwave.
When the chill arrives, I like anything with cinnamon or raisins (or both). Soup in the crockpot is a favorite as is chili. Mmmm....chili. I want some NOW.
When it comes to fall, I have to make an apple crisp - made one last night!
What a fun cowl and the stole is going to be a knockout. :)
My fall favorites:
Pumpkin Pecan Muffins
Texas Pot Roast
Chili (of course)
Tea ---- lots and lots of hot tea!
Baked rice pudding, baked, acorn squash, pumpkin pie or bread
Hugs,
Meredith
