Warmth, Finally
It is going to be a porch day.
Finally, the warmth has arrived.
And, I'm knitting mittens.
This is my Mongolian Cashmere, half off!
Thanks for all your suggestions.
Caffeine Girl, You had the tip that helped me.
I found that placing 3 stitch markers evenly around the needles, and decreasing K2tog before each marker, made a very nice round tip.
If Mittens grew on trees....
This is our blender. Wedding gift circa 1982.
It pooped out this week while I tried to make a berry smoothie with chocolate yogurt.
Good news is, Santa brought us an immersion blender and it takes up half the room.
Have you made daiquiri's with an immersion blender?
I Love the Kentucky Derby. My bets' on Mr Z for
my Mr. Z (zach)
Tomorrow we are headed to the Arlington Racetrack with my fun Uncle Bill.
Uncle Bill is a bit of a gambler.
We've never been to the track together and we've been planning this all winter.
I just love to look at those horses.
I usually pick the horse by the name...
I thought of one of you when I saw the PEACE signs at our local garden shoppe. One of you made your own.
Aren't they pretty?
I love garden whimsy.
I also wanted to share a recipe from this week.
You take a yellow cake mix and mix it with pineapple
(a can of crushed pineapple)
Then you bake it.
It makes a very sticky cake.
Fireman loved it.
Do you have a two or three ingredient recipe?

Good luck to Mr. Z, you know that would be my favorite too.

We hit 100 degrees the past 2 days so too warm to sit outside and knit!
I remember when blenders looked like that. I'm pretty sure I had one just like it in the 1980s. Isn't that color called "almond"?
Made some last night and the grandsons loved it.. on everything. ((hugs)), Teresa :-)
Easiest Scones in All the World
2 c. self-rising
2 T. sugar (and a little to sprinkle on top
1.2 c. canned full-fat-in coconut milk (stirred)
Mix it up. Shape them, brush a little of the coconut milk residue on top and sprinkle with sugar. Bake at 425 for 20 minutes. I usually half the recipe (makes 3 that way) and keep the rest of the coconut milk in the fridge until next time. Not at all coconutty tasting either!
PS I heart your mittens!
I am drawn to names, but need to know EVERYTHING to make a bet; jockey, owner, trainer, pedigree...
I can hear the announcements and things sometimes from where I am.
It should be a gorgeous day!!
