  Every single stitch I knit yesterday, I pulled out.  I love the Misti alpaca cotton yarn, but it just has not declared itself yet.  I'm thinking cowl. My friend Mary brought me this Poinsettia on Friday. I have not had one in years.....decades.  The cats... But I put it on a ledge and I'm hoping.  So far it has not attracted anyone's attention but mine.  What else should I share with you today?  Happy Hanukkah if you celebrate! My friend Karen was asking me what I made for dinner the other day.  Seems we are always all looking for that dinner idea. I shopped today.  Here's the plan: Crock pock pork carnitas Crock pot bbq pulled chicken  Roasted vegetables and brown rice Low fat Mexican cheese between two flour tortillas and Rum balls.  (hee he not really.  but Fireman is making rum balls today)  Whats on your menu?  

The Stats: Yarn: Delicious cotton from Misti Alpaca  Verdict: not guilty of splits Size:  3inches wide by 58 inches long That'll do ya for round the neck warmth. Needles: two size 4 circs I put a seam on each side by slipping the middle stitch on each needle every other row.  This allows it to lay flat instead of beING  a roly poly tube.  100% SOFT AND WONDERFUL ON YOUR SKIN.  LOVED IT.  TRY IT YOU'LL LIKE IT  

1. Tried using the self-serve computer at the Post Office yesterday. LOOK OUT.  I loved it.  No line, no hassle, no chit chat! 2. I love the self- serve library stands at my branch.   I can only imagine Allison as a child wanting to stand there and work that machine!   3. Occasionally I do self serve at the grocery store....and sometimes in Spanish for practice... to amuse me 4.  Of Course there is self-serve Soft frozen yogurt which makes me feel like the soda jerk.  So fun.   See it doesn't take much... 5. I'm not into automation for everything of course.  But man oh man the post office thing made my day yesterday.  Do You Self Serve?  And do you thank yourself?  

I awoke to a snow covered landscape. This is my window view.  Perfection..... I am going to sing the praises of cotton round here. I love how cotton feels on my skin.  It doesn't pill much. Now I wouldnt go knitting a sweater in it, but for cowls, for scarves, for the like, it is the BEST to me.  I've seen the cotton fields in Virginia and I love them.   I remember being put in dresses and tights as a child and feeling like I would crawl out of my skin.  Everything itched.  I wore the clothes without complaint but they came off the second it was allowed.   No wonder I don't like to dress up.  I love comfort. I love cotton!        

So November ended with a bang.  Zach crashed on his skateboard and broke his collar bone. He crashed late Sunday.  Yesterday, the nurse mom, wanted him to call his doctor and request an xray.  Xray granted: fractured clavicle.  He came out of the radiology dept....(where it was taking forever so I had a hunch either someone came in with a trauma that was delaying everyone else..and rightly so...or he had a fracture and they were making him a dvd for his doctor.) He came out and said the tech asked when he crashed and he said yesterday. The Rad Tech told him he has a very high pain tolerance and that is was fractured.  He said he'd need surgery and pins. Now it is looking like surgery is not going to be needed.  My mom would say he broke his wing.  Zach's a good sport.  He's resting today and headed back to work tomorrow in a sling.  Some of you may recall he was on the skateboard in Mexico when a dog bit him....

  I'm in love with this mini teeny tiny sweater.  Time will tell if I knit one.   Would an elf say it itches?   For someone who has used an artificial tree for years, I am very obsessed with Fetch the Tree images. I love the idea of the stars, but the great thing about Ravelry is, there were some OOPS photos reviews.  I won't be trying this.    I'll be looking for Fiber deals today on Fyber Monday.  *on a side note, my sweet mom said a few lovely things last night.  Among them: "God is listening!"  The angel in her already has her wings.

  Someone's enjoying the fire!   Loved the bag....just not practical   Cut open the pumpkin for our squirrels' Thanksgiving Read on a blog, (Whose?) that this was a great Irish book. It is very very short.  It was okay.  Thought I'd read it before I gave it to my friend Helen.  My mom might have loved it. Slow roasted a turkey breast at 175 degrees for hours yesterday. You start at 450 for 15 minutes then turn it down.  And then you wait and wait for hours.  But it was Moist Delicious A winner of a way to roast our turkey There's been knitting of course. Cotton scarf knitting. This two circs thing slows me down but I'm enjoying it none the less.  That's the All of It here today!
