  You can laugh with me or even at me this morning! I have the shortest attention span in the Knituniverse. My baby blanket was not wide enough and I was bored. I turned it into a baby bonnet.    Just so you are correctly informed, a goldfish is said to have the shortest attention span....of 3 seconds.  I'm not that easily bored, but I'm darn close.  Here's how I converted it: I cast on 100 stitches on a circular needle.  I knitted the pattern of Knit a row K2P2 the second row. I did this for 4 inches.  Then I Knit 2 together across the row. Then I knit a row.  I repeated these two rows and switched to double points when I decreased so much that I couldn't stay on circulars. Then I pulled the last eight stitches through tightly. Finally I crocheted two chains for the ties. I know of a girl baby who is expected this year...and she's going to get this pretty little bonn...

  Today's Mexico round up is all about the rode to the butterfly migration...stay tuned.   Today's product round up day too.... This is my favorite hand lotion.  Not greasy at all.  Barely scented.  Love it!   Santa Poo-pourri truly works.  The scent is lovely.  Do you Poo - pourri?   Hee hee The candles in coffee beans experiment failed.  I didn't smell the coffee...literally. Last nights SUPPER, as we say down on the ranch,  was roasted vegetable sandwiches on baguettes.  (with Fresh chopped cilantro and oil and vinegar and oregano drizzled over)   It was super good.   Oh and this is a knit blog.... I'm 4 inches into Kina. Today is baby blanket knitting day.  and that's the round up. 

  Zach and Izzy had a grand time in Mexico.  I'll share a photo or two from their trip each day for you. Coffee anyone? Mexican coffee is my favorite kind of coffee.  It is never bitter and oh so smooth.  What's your favorite coffee? In as much as I would LOVE to work only on my sweater, alas, the knitting does tire my forearms.  So, I alternate with this baby blanket that Knitterbeader got me hooked on.  It is a simple k2p2 on one side and Knit on the other side.  As for New Years the occasional cat visitor, I haven't seen him. I felt all guilty yesterday because there were paw prints by my front door.  So I left food out.  Saw no takers. When I get up in the morning the food is gone... and Fireman feels I've been feeding a raccoon. He may be right.   So, No more food put out unless I see New Years again.  (Dinner last night was  Chicken marsala. I will try...

  Can you see all the sock yarns in my finished cowl? I wanted to show you another image of it because, while Beatles is an exceptional model, you can see the patterns much better this way.  I gave it a good washing and left it out on the radiator to dry.  Given that it is freezing, literally, outside, the cowl was dry in about an hour on that smoking radiator.   I'm trying out a pinterest idea.  You are supposed to be able to smell the coffee beans when the candles heat them up.  So far, it is just pretty, not effective.  Because I love whimsy, I'll leave you with this MSN image.  IT is some new form of working out.  I'd call it the Bat stretch.  I bet it would make the small of your back feel good. I'm not about to try it.  I'll keep walking thanks.....

  The Woods are wrapped in Winter. I am wrapped in my parka.  My "Lady Kina" is not a wrap at all.  *There had been no sign of New Years the visiting cat. *Wonder Dog, the dog who ate only Wonder bread,  is not adopted yet.  *I walked a mile in the cold yesterday. *I need a good audio book.  *I like non-fiction.  *Have a happy Day. 

  Caffeine Girl sent me this wonderful prize package.  I won her orange toned sock yarn in December.  She sent me "Lynn" a pretty sock pattern and a wonder bar of chocolate!! I did not give up chocolate for New Years...mmmm I'm always struck by our pretend friends'  generosity at contests. As soon as the sock bug hits, this yarn is on the needles.  I resolved to knit side by side socks all year to avoid the dreaded second sock syndrome which I deplore! I went to see INTO THE WOODS again yesterday.  My neighbor wanted to see it.  I loved it again.  Meredith posted about her Lady Kina Sweater.  I immediately dropped my cowl and started a Kina. It took me over an hour to choose the yarn color at Three Bags Full.   This is Nussler's ribbed loop.  It is a free Ravelry pattern and I love the look.  You cannot see the buttonholes and buttons in this designer's image.
