  Did anyone lose a shoe?    This orange blossom is gorgeous, but glass. The squirrel that's out to get me would surely break it.  There has been all work and very little play .....which makes Kathy B a bit on the cranky pants side.    That's about to change, however.   After today I've a stretch of days off and needles here I come.  I am ready to finish the Mizzle Shawl... and cast on another.  You know it is a good pattern if I'm potato chip knitting.  and finally It is Zachary's last day of student teaching, last day of college classes......we are so overjoyed for him.  Well done Senor Boyer Well done...

Beatles got a birthday gift!  He loves his outdoor tunnel. Fireman just shakes his head and laughs.   Beatles we love you so.  You are so friendly.  You are a chest cat...you prefer chests to laps.   You cry when we leave you on the porch and walk away.  Little black cat we want many many more years with you~

Before I reveal the secrets of this Irisheyed knitter, I must show you my irises, my starlight candy petunias, and my sunset after the storms Saturday night.   *One of the main reasons I buy yarn at yarn stores is so they can wind it for me.  I've watched them wrestle a hank for a half an hour to get it untangled.  Better them than me; I don't want my yarn to aggravate me before I've even knitted a stitch.  *I listen to Christmas music instrumentals on my ipod while I workout all year long...... *I have an uncanny knack for knitting stitch markers into the body of my project.  No matter how I try to avoid this, it happens.   *I have already worn my head lamp on the porch this summer... Fireman likes the lights off while we sit on the porch....but I have to see don't I?   *I look stunning in my headlamp but you would never see me ... *I have a recurring dream that I cant carry all my yarn on a bus, and I'm losing it everywh...

  I'm happy to show you the kite festival in our town today.  The wind was perfect.  Little children were overjoyed at flying the kites.  Big kids like us, loved watching them too.   This jelly fish was semiprofessionally flown by the vendor at the fair.   So fly the kites and(I HOPE)  so fly my needles today.  My goal: to finish the Mizzle shawl.   On another exciting flight note, we had a female hummingbird at our feeder last night. SOMEONE was working and missed her.  I was told however, that Beatles threw himself at the screen and frightened her  away.  Here's hoping they are as bold as we have heard they are.  Here's hoping she returns.  Do you think she will? I cannot fault little Beatle Bug, whose 2nd birthday is tomorrow.   Today is the last day of May.  May ends. June begins.   Here are 10 ways I'm finishing May: *My shawl is nearly finished. I'm working on the border.  I've changed it up a bit from the directions but it's easier for me this way.  *The air conditioners are in place. I can spend the day without it but I must have cool to sleep.  *I'm waiting for some Knitpicks sock yarn. I ordered the old fashioned way...with a check.  This ought to eliminate any hacking issues they haven't worked out.  *Today is day 8 without Coca cola.  This is a huge deal for me.  "How do you feel?" Troy asks, and I say,  "Like I want a COKE"  *Here's to A Coke free June..... Yes this means a soda free June.  Coke is the only soda I would drink.... oh that's past tense..... perhaps that is a good sign *I am preparing for Zach's graduation. (Al is getting her Bachelors the same day...!)  I have a new dress...

  My sister got her MACH this weekend in Agility. She has a great German Shepard,. Quetzal. (rhymes with Pretzel) Dog lovers will recognize this amazing accomplishment.  She also got a Mach on her last Gordon Setter who is now passed.  She's my sister the veterinarian.  I'm proud.  I've been wanting to get a dog/or puppy for awhile now.  Fireman is not in the same camp.  I think I am in love with the thought of a dog/puppy.  There were so many dogs at the Memorial Day parade.   Alas, it takes two to get a dog in this house.  It is not fun if everyone is not on board.  I am making a list of 100 reasons not to get a dog.  I have to convince myself.  On my days off a dog would be wonderful, but the reality is that I work 3 days a week.  Those 3 days don't work with a dog...... I will have to get my dog JOY from your blogs and your dogs..... We love rice krispie treats in this house.  My secret ...
