A Very Big Irisheyes Day!

Today is my incredible son's birthday!
He was born on the Day of the Dead and if you've read irisheyes for any length you know, he loves Mexico.
(and he is there for his birthday for the second time in his life.)

Happy Birthday Zach. !
I can't control outcomes, but oh gosh I try!
I know what I wish for this very special Birthday..
we text with Zach and  Allison during all the Cub games!

During this WORLD Series, I have managed to knit a pair of Fingerless.   The yellow yarn was a gift from Kim at Handeye for the Hunks and Chicks contest.  Whoever donated it to Kim Thanks!
I added the pumpkin buttons.
You like?

I dropped 4 stitches( only ) on Sunday nights game during the 4th inning.
It is more of a recipe than a pattern:
Sock yarn
cast on 64 on double points
knit 2 purl 2 around for your cuff
Stockinette until thumb placement
Buttonhole for thumb
More Stockinette
1 by 1 rib for knuckle part.
Add buttons of your choice.

on a funny side note. Zach was at Monte Alban yesterday and sent me this photo .
I immediately notice he got his ear pierced!  I texted him right away, excited for him.
He corrected me.
He did not pierce his ear!
It is a coincidential placement of a tourist down below!

Love your gloves and that is a great picture of Zach (with or without an ear piercing - lol). Yay for the CUBS. Fingers, toes and everything else crossed for tonight's game.

Your gloves turned out great! Love the pumpkins. :-) I laughed out loud at the tourist dangling from Zach's ear. I could see the same thing happening with our son in Japan. Cubs. What else can I say. Today will decide it. It's so stressful. Go Cubs! Just for you my friend.
Blessings,
Betsy

Happy birthday Zach!!! How funny, his earring is a tourist in the wrong place at the right time. Or is it the right place at the wrong time? I love your fingerless gloves!! They are so cute with their pumpkin buttons. Your recipe sounds so easy I could possibly cook up a few pairs of them for Christmas gifts. Not watching Cubs tonight, but when it is all over I plan to have a recorded World Series marathon and knit through all 7 games.

Hope your son had a great birthday. Love your mitts and the idea of using a button hole for the thumb. I though the upside down pumpkins were ladybugs at first glance. Oh well, both are cute. Funny earring story!
