The City Mouse and The Country Mouse

The city mouse loved Navy Pier.
Apparently, the new Ferris wheel is awesome.
If you've been to Chicago you probably saw the Bean.

The City is fun and alive and clean.
Alas, I prefer the country.
I need some country folks.  Some sky.  Some air.  Some farmland to view.

Al's got some wide open space in Oklahoma.
Here's her lightening image catch!

I wanted to sleep on the screened porch last night.
I slept like a rock.
Apparently, Fireman did not.
Apparently Fezzik had a slumber party attitude the whole night.
Oh well, I slept right through it.

I finished the yoga foot and ankle tubes for my friend.

Back to Christmas stockings.

Yesterday my dear son Zach asked to treat me to Starbucks.
Then we went to a book store.
I was on my phone texting some important information to the Shelter.  Zach took my phone away for a bit.
He said, it was interfering in our quality mother son time.
He was right!

Parents these days!
Put.
The Phone.

Zach is a VERY smart boy!

I love visiting the country, but I prefer to live in a small city.

Yes, I prefer the country too. Smart Zach...good to have time with your children. Love that photo that Al took of the sky.

Smart Zack! You must have taught him well. I prefer the country too. Too many people make me nervous, especially in these troubling times. Have a lovely weekend my friend.
Blessings, Betsy

Good for Zach!! I love it! A few Sundays back we were having a combined Father's Day and birthday family bash and when I looked around the room most of the adults had their phones out--glued to the tiny screens. I have a rule--I don't take my phone out of my bag when the family gets together.

I love country too and like you, crave it at times. But I still miss Chicago and the Bean and Navy Pier.
I'm a country lass at heart - but I love to visit the city!

Did you know the first Ferris wheel was at the 1893 World's Fair in Chicago? I learned that in the Devil and the White City by Erik Larsen. Enjoy his books. So, are you looking for a house in the country? Good for Zach! I wish him well on his new adventure!

LOL; we parents can be just as bad.

Love this post! I'm a country mouse, as I love open spaces - room to breathe.

I'm glad Zach took your phone for a bit. I wish I had hidden the TV remote on the latest Sister Sew-in: not much conversation, but a LOT of talk TV, which I detest.

What a sweetie your Zach is. I'm not even sure mine is still alive. It takes me a week just to get a simple email question answered.

I'm a country mouse, too. Mother/son time is a treasure; be glad he wants your attention!
I'm a country girl too....just not the middle of nowhere like I use to live. LOL

Where will your new house be? That was cute that your son made you put your phone down. ((hugs)), Teresa :-)

I love visiting the country, but I am a city person. I like not having to rely on a car to get places.

I'm in the country and love it!! I have almost five acres and it's peaceful. However I do not have a trader joes, whole foods or even a wegmans....and that would be sweet! I love your son, what a smart man you raised :)
