The Good and the Not So Good

 We'll start with the good news.  
K?
I was able to get this awesome sock project bag from the recent sale at Amy Beth's Fat Squirrel site.  
It is enough to make me want to knit owl socks. 
I love the zipper pull!!

More good news:
We watched  a movie with lousy reviews and liked it anyhow:
A Walk in the Woods. 
The scenery is great.  After I got used to looking at Rob Red with many wrinkles, and figuring out Nick Nolte's graveled voice,
it was pretty cute.  

Now for the fail, which we all know is part of the process.
Painful growth and all that. 
Fezzik is photobombing my shawl photo. 
My Thin Ice shawl is now a shawlette.
I only had one skien of Louisa Harding.

It is a fail for me because let's face it I don't block things.
I got it really wet and stretched it out and let it grow and ....no
...just no. 
I also changed the pattern and put a ruffle on the end. 

I'm just going to continue to be amazed at all of you who knit pretty shawls.  
You really do amaze me!

That shawl doesn't look bad at all. Some types of lace don't need a fierce blocking just a gentle stretch. You did good!

I have knit my fair share of pretty shawls and I never wear them. I have given most of them away and don't intend to knit more. I guess I'm saying that I don't believe you are missing anything!

Love that Fezzik--a superior cat!

Love the bag! I'm going to try to make a drawstring project bag this afternoon. Fezzik seems to like that beautiful shawl. It's definitely NOT a fail in my opinion.

I really like the owl bag.. but to be honest.. there isn't a bag I have met that I don't like.. I like bags. I hope your shawl works for you. Lots of work to make one! ((hugs)), Teresa :-)

If I can't block it with a good steam iron I am not blocking it at all. Try it, I think it works better than a good soak.

You can't tell with that lace shawl as the lace is simple and since you used a variegated colorway. That is one cool, owl bag.

I liked "A Walk in the Woods" very much. It's streaming on amazon now --- I'm going to watch it once I'm done with "The Blacklist."

The wrap is more than fine. One, ruffles are harder to knit than they look. Two, it's a beautiful colorway. Three, knitters who know there is a mistake in their work fixate on it, when the wider world is usually gobsmacked that anyone is capable of such artistry.

And, four, if Fezzik likes to look at it, it has to be good.

The owl bag is darling! Like Theresa, though, I don't see many bags that I don't like!
It's hard to say your shawl is a fail when it's on a chair. I have to say that the shawl I wear the most is one I thought was a fail for a year before I actually tried wearing it!

Like your new bag! when you block your shawl do you pin it out to dry? I find that helps them hold their shape much better. I think it is pretty anyway, hope you enjoy wearing it!

 Is that vague enough for you?  It has been a too busy complicated Spring.  I had no energy to blog.  All is well now, so I can share some things with you:   1. Insufficient Information

Dear buddy nurse and spay neuter pal Linda, came to visit yesterday.  We knitted. We laughed.  We shared books we are reading. She Showed me her scarf.  It looks like a shawl but it is a scarf. Here is her yarn choice. And the( OUCH) price.   It makes her happy to knit.  If Linda's happy I'm happy.  I dont' know the pattern and neither does she.  Her dog literally shredded her pattern.  She was at a point where she had memorized the easy part and she's nearly finished.  So there you go, anyone know the pattern? You are all so sweet about the move and the house.
