I FInally Did it

I forgot to tell you my big knit news.
 I finally was able to pick up dropped stitches in garter on the shawl from the weekend!

I have been unsuccessful for years. 
I found if I kept turning the work around from front to back I was able to do it.

So, some things take me years to learn. 

Back to socks today.
Look at my daffodils, coming up.
Spring?

I can do much better at picking up knit stitches than purl stitches, so am often turning work around when I drop stitches. Good job!

Persistence pays off! I sometimes have to turn my work too when fixing garter stitch.

Dropped stitches are a total pain especially if they go unoticed for several rounds. Now that you've figured out how to pick them up you should be good to go. Good for you!!! They're still a pain though.....even if you know how to pick em up! LOL!

Yay! Great job! It's always wonderful to know we have mastered a new skill. I turn my work too, when picking up garter stitches. Happy spring! It's snowing here this morning.

Nice work! I agree garter is harder to fix than stockinette. Yay for daffodils!

Love those daffydils! Congratulations! I'm glad you have discovered an easier way to fix a knitting mistake. I always opt for the easiest way to do anything in knitting, so I also turn the work around and pick up from the back. I know people who can pick up garter stitches from the front (they are surely more knitting advanced and sophisticated than I), but I choose the easy-peasy way every time.

Daffodils are the scouts of Spring! My mom taught me tricks like that-I'm glad you figured it out for yourself now, it sure makes it easier for fixing mistakes!!!

I have used a small crochet hook to pick up a dropped knit stitch before.. but those dropped stitches are awful to deal with. I think you Spring is there!! ((hugs)), Teresa :-)

 Is that vague enough for you?  It has been a too busy complicated Spring.  I had no energy to blog.  All is well now, so I can share some things with you:   1. Insufficient Information

Dear buddy nurse and spay neuter pal Linda, came to visit yesterday.  We knitted. We laughed.  We shared books we are reading. She Showed me her scarf.  It looks like a shawl but it is a scarf. Here is her yarn choice. And the( OUCH) price.   It makes her happy to knit.  If Linda's happy I'm happy.  I dont' know the pattern and neither does she.  Her dog literally shredded her pattern.  She was at a point where she had memorized the easy part and she's nearly finished.  So there you go, anyone know the pattern? You are all so sweet about the move and the house.
