Donna Makes Your Heart So Light!

The summer 2015  Bucket list included getting up to the Farmers' Market in Madison.

If you have never been, you should go.
Donna B. From Quiet Life and Pioneer Woman fame,
and I have become friends through our blogs.

It's a lovely Holiday with Donna.
Donna makes your heart so light.
When the day is grey and ordinary,
Donna makes the sun shine bright!

We met for the Market yesterday.

The really marvelous Market is set up around
Wisconsin's State Capitol.
There are many many vendors and the crowd is a slow walking, gawking and quietly talking living thing.

 I came prepared.
Fireman ended up carrying the goods in my crazy cat bag.
We got separated a few times in the crowd and here he is waiting for me to catch up.
He is always ahead of me.
Several women, told Fireman they loved his bag.
He told them he got it at the Man Store.

This is a Tiny little cherry pie that will soon be a memory.

We  bought beeswax candles, honey, flowers that will dry so beautifully, Jam and Pickled Beets.
The Beets come on good authority from Donna's daughter, Emma.

The weather was perfect.
Afterwards we spend the day with Donna's family.
She made us a fantastic Lasagna dinner.
Some people make you feel so lucky to be in their midst.

I don't believe in co incidences, so I think she's kind of Heaven sent.

I must say I saw a yarny booth and did not purchase anything.
The  vendor makes her own yarn from sheep to finish.
It was lovely stuff, but I am counting the days to the Wisconsin Sheep and Wool Festival where there are two barns full of vendors.

I knitted on my leftover sock yarn blanket , up and back as Fireman drove.
It is slowly progressing.

Thanks Donna for an amazing Day!

My mother used to pickle beets. Pickled is the only way I've ever been able to eat them.

what fun! I cannot believe you did not buy yarn, you must have been running a fever or something. That is the perfect kind of outing in my mind.

Oh, my pie! I've been craving pie all summer. Now I have to get one. Farmer's Markets are the best. We have a great one right down the street. I need to haul my lazy behind down there before the summer is all gone.
