I just got a phone call from a very nice man in Virginia Beach, who Picked up Allison's lost phone on the beach last night. 
Thank you RAY!!!  I told him he's the BEST! 
How nice of him.  So good karma all the way around!  
Al's bag had a hole in it and she lost her phone last night. 
So Ray, with a great Virginia drawl, just called Y'all and I'm so grateful .  Shout out to RAY!

 I'm training my Ivy to grow the direction I wish, using old knitting needles.  People keep giving me their old aunts' needles.  If you need to train your Ivy, these are the perfect .  Stay tuned for summer updates.  Maybe I can get the Ivy to spell CUBS
 I don't think I'd knit this top by Knitting Fever, but I like how simple it looks.  I love the blue waters colored yarn. 
When I sit by Lake Michigan in the summer, the water colors are always changing with the clouds and weather conditions. 
This is another top for the very skinny!

I cannot seem to find Elizabeth Durand's email to thank her for her mitten pattern.  It is my go to for my Mitten Mission.
She posted it for free on Afgans for Afghans site and asked that you donate one pair of mittens to someone in need if you use her pattern.

 This is my first Summer of Retirement and I want to: 

 *appreciate it every day.  I told Fireman I loved driving home at midnight with the windows open in Summer, but I'll be happy to not be stressed out at work and I can still do a midnight drive. 

 *Keep Growing my bangs out. 
This is super difficult for me.  I'm the girl who takes her own scissors into the bathroom and chops away at whim. 
*Look into Beatles being a therapy cat.  I'm sure some old crazy cat ladies would love to see Beatles when they are without pets in a nursing home.  

 *Continue my Mitten Mania and see how many pairs I can get ready to donate.  Yes this means you could  be a bit bored here with my knitting ....I'll try to spice it up for you!

 *Eat more fruits and vegetables.
This means I won't just buy them and go past them for a bag of chips..  
I have this Frito fantasy..but I'll stop there

 *Finish Mary's mothers blanket

 *Say a silent prayer of thanks at 1500 every day when my shift would have begun at work.  

*Maybe, just maybe, ride a horse again.

 And you?????

Sounds like you have a full summer planned. Mine includes drying some of my tons of herbs and putting them up in cute little jars for gifts. I'm answering my own question, "What possessed me to plant a WHOLE garden of herbs?"

I loved the story about Al's phone! There are a lot of wonderful people in the world. One sweet lady brought our grandson's wallet back to him when he lost it last week.

I'm still not mentioning the "R" word until next year!

I just came from Daddio's nursing home and I can tell you that they need more critters and babies. Someone had a little one wailing away in a stroller today and it lit the place up. It made everyone so happy to see that sign of life. I am going to take Pup up to see him as soon as it cools off.

After five years I still watch my teacher clock and am grateful I don't live by it anymore. Waking up without an alarm is amazing.

My plan for the summer is to stay cool. It's almost 100 here today and very humid. I've got plenty of inside things to keep me busy so no complaints. It's a good day for a nap. Pup and I do some serious snuggling on the couch every afternoon. Life is good.

Hurry for getting the phone back! I love good people! As for the ivy.. are you SURE you want to grow that stuff? It has taken over our farm.. choked out 30 foot trees.. is climbing up our forest trees and choking out all native things. It's a terrible problem in Oregon. I love all your optimistic plans! I think Southern people are just so nice. The not so skinny, Meredith whose butt and belly are expanding at a rapid rate would love to make that sweater. Does it have a name? Love your ideas for summer, I am thinking about getting through the week until Thursday afternoon, every week. Sunday I take my son to college orientation, yikes!!!!! Sending you some Joe Maddon love.

The only plan we have so far is another kayak trip. This one will be at night for the bioluminescence tour on Haulover Canal.

Other than that ---- summer means trying to find a cool spot to read and knit.

Haha! I have two apricots languishing in my fridge at work, meanwhile I have taken down 2 different chip bags (with a little help, but just a little) this week. sigh.

I'm glad your girl got her phone back. I am wishing you a wonderful summer, Kathy.

As far as the knitting goes. You just knit whatever the H E double hockey sticks you want, just make sure you do it with few ball games on ;)

I haven't driven through the warm, moist, summertime air for far too long. I hope to do that again this summer.

Great to hear that your DD's phone was found and will be returned! Watch that ivy; around here anyway it goes crazy and will easily take over everything else. Ask me how I know! We are soon having a family gathering to celebrate our 50th....early.

My Ivy is way beyond the knitting needle stage it is just about taking over, love the sweater such a pretty colour, my summer plans are just to enjoy the good weather when we get it and I'm looking forward to a holiday in Benidorm in September. Enjoy your weekend. :)

I probably need to set up some sort of knitting needle barricade to contain my ivy. I thought the sun would keep it in check but I was oh so wrong.

 Is that vague enough for you?  It has been a too busy complicated Spring.  I had no energy to blog.  All is well now, so I can share some things with you:   1. Insufficient Information

Dear buddy nurse and spay neuter pal Linda, came to visit yesterday.  We knitted. We laughed.  We shared books we are reading. She Showed me her scarf.  It looks like a shawl but it is a scarf. Here is her yarn choice. And the( OUCH) price.   It makes her happy to knit.  If Linda's happy I'm happy.  I dont' know the pattern and neither does she.  Her dog literally shredded her pattern.  She was at a point where she had memorized the easy part and she's nearly finished.  So there you go, anyone know the pattern? You are all so sweet about the move and the house. This morning I got my cuppa joe and headed to the porch to write you.  In the distance, my nearest neighbor, whom I can see through some trees.... well one of their teens came out, stretched, peed on their lawn casually, and then laid in his hammock for 5 minutes.  I'm sure he's not the first boy to do this.  I'm not even sure he's the...
