17 to Nothing

 I finished putting together a blanket for my friend Mary. 
Her mom knit it long ago and never put the panels together. 
Mary's mom and my mom now have dementia.
Mary's mom still remembers things and she will be happy to have her blanket in their new care facility. 

Mary's mom was a careful knitter. 
Her stitches are lovely. 
Her gauge was a bit varied from panel to panel so I had to fudge a bit to line them up.
I crocheted the panels together and it made it easy to weave all her ends in too.

She ended all her panels with a loop.  I don't know why.
I had to take out the loop, corral the live stitches and wrestle them to the ground before finishing. 

My hat's off to all of you who said you like to finish your own work. 
You are even more amazing than I knew before.
 Finally, it is warm enough to sit on my porch at night.
I love summer porch nights. 
I actually turn down dinners out because they interfere with my porch nights.

Fireman was impressed and had to try it. 
He says it is a great method and he uses it all the time now.

17-0. 
Time to watch the Blackhawk Parade!

Yea Cubbies!!!! Had doctor's appointments yesterday, got back late and crashed. Missed the game!

I need to try the watermelon cutting method. I make a real mess when I cut a watermelon and DH too. Maybe it's not hopeless after all.

I'll check out Major Knitter's video. I love watermelon, but it can be difficult to find a "good" one no matter how much tapping I do.

I will go see the watermelon technique next. So very lovely of you to finish that blanket for that woman. We lost 2 of our parents to Alzheimers.. my mom and D's dad. A treacherous way to go. ((hugs)), Teresa :-)

 Is that vague enough for you?  It has been a too busy complicated Spring.  I had no energy to blog.  All is well now, so I can share some things with you:   1. Insufficient Information

Dear buddy nurse and spay neuter pal Linda, came to visit yesterday.  We knitted. We laughed.  We shared books we are reading. She Showed me her scarf.  It looks like a shawl but it is a scarf. Here is her yarn choice. And the( OUCH) price.   It makes her happy to knit.  If Linda's happy I'm happy.  I dont' know the pattern and neither does she.  Her dog literally shredded her pattern.  She was at a point where she had memorized the easy part and she's nearly finished.  So there you go, anyone know the pattern? You are all so sweet about the move and the house.
