Mitten Finish

I give you the ShiBui Mittens....
Although it looks as though the thumbs are too small, they are in fact good sized.  The gusset is started in the SUMMER CAMP variegated color way and finished in navy so that creates the illusion. 

I was inspired by Dee who knits some of her socks with a solid cuff and heel and toe.

There is a Ravelry community that collects mittens for kids in need and this pair is going along with others. 
I wanted them BIG because some kids are built bigger and need warm hands as well.  
The yarn was pretty had had some nice give to it. 
Do you think I should tag the mittens with a hand wash sign? 
 My Columbine are blooming.  Someone told me they are the symbol of the Holy Spirit.  Love that. 
Baby Fezzik has the laundry gene....

Fun mittens Kathy! And a great idea making some larger...for bigger kids. Fezzik is so photogenic - he is gorgeous. Our columbine are blooming now too -- just noticed them the other evening. Enjoy the holiday weekend!

Yes, you should put a tag on the wool mittens to hand wash them or they'll get tossed in the machine and become baby mittens. Those are great and so nice of you to donate them! Love little BIG Fezzick! ((hugs)), Teresa :-)

Columbines are one of my favorites; it fact the are the only perennials I have planted at my place.

 Is that vague enough for you?  It has been a too busy complicated Spring.  I had no energy to blog.  All is well now, so I can share some things with you:   1. Dear buddy nurse and spay neuter pal Linda, came to visit yesterday.  We knitted. We laughed.  We shared books we are reading. She Showed me her scarf.  It looks like a shawl but it is a scarf. Here is her yarn choice. And the( OUCH) price.   It makes her happy to knit.  If Linda's happy I'm happy.  I dont' know the pattern and neither does she.  Her dog literally shredded her pattern.  She was at a point where she had memorized the easy part and she's nearly finished.  So there you go, anyone know the pattern? You are all so sweet about the move and the house.
