Spring Cleaning and Retirement
*Spring cleaning is going on here at Irisheyes.
I've been deleting lots and lots of images from my computer.
Hundreds of them.
I used to be in the good habit of downloading images and immediately trashing the poor ones.
Then I got a bit lazy.
Another good thing about this cleaning, is finding some knits that I had not put in my Ravelry project page. So, I've been updating that page, too. It is soley for my own records.
Looks like I was trying to knit lace LAST year at this same time.
Isn't that funny?
Hmmm, maybe warmer weather makes me want to knit light things.
People ask me how I like retirement.
I love it.
I wish all my pals could retire from nursing if they wish.
On Holidays, especially, I am hugely thankful for being finished.
The stress of the job was not good for me the last 10 years.
I do miss the friendships that only survive with frequent work contact, but I keep up with some.
I know my pals are very busy, very tired and very overworked.
While I gave up Facebook for Lent...
(did I tell you that?)
I do like seeing what ISCU pals are up to on Social media.
Another thing I do not miss, is all the emotional eating and junk in the lounge. It was our way of nurturing each other, but it was not healthy. It takes SUPER skills to walk away from a table of homemade baked goods when you haven 't eaten in hours and you are stressed out.
To all my friends in Nursing, I say a little prayer for you every night. I do.

When are you getting the new kitten you mention in the sidebar?
I've noticed there are MANY doctors who do not "practice what they preach", but I'm sure it is difficult when your on a crazy schedule.
I've been spring cleaning too, but of the more house-wise kind of thing. Doing the kitchen drawers today. It's amazing what shows up in there. LOL
It is so nice of you to feel for your still-employed colleagues. I know I appreciate the sympathy I get from retired teachers!
