Day 9, 2015 Attention Span of a Goldfish
You can laugh with me or even at me this morning!
I have the shortest attention span in the Knituniverse.
My baby blanket was not wide enough and I was bored.
I turned it into a baby bonnet.
Just so you are correctly informed, a goldfish is said to have the shortest attention span....of 3 seconds.
I'm not that easily bored, but I'm darn close.
Here's how I converted it:
I cast on 100 stitches on a circular needle.
I knitted the pattern of Knit a row
K2P2 the second row.
I did this for 4 inches.
Then I Knit 2 together across the row.
Then I knit a row.
I repeated these two rows and switched to double points when I decreased so much that I couldn't stay on circulars.
Then I pulled the last eight stitches through tightly.
Finally I crocheted two chains for the ties.
I know of a girl baby who is expected this year...and she's going to get this pretty little bonnet.
I used Zara yarn. It is soft and has a wonderful spring to it.
These tiny narcissus are blooming and a have soft lovely fragrance. I am so happy to see and smell these little blossoms.
Today's image from Zach's trip to Mexico is the New Years eve
fireworks display from El Charco.
A friend of Zachary's is shooting them off.
So baby bonnets, blossoms and boom!
Hows your Friday going?

Hugs and happy weekend,
Meredith
Love that smell of the Narcissus. I should have picked up some this year, but didn't. Yours look so pretty!
My Friday is ending a furiously fast week and leading into a lazy weekend. Next week family is coming from Chicago and I want to be ready--as in rested! This is me, reading and knitting.
I used to volunteer in a classroom for children with mental handicaps. The little boy I worked with had an Individual Education Plan that was to get his attention span to 1.5 seconds. Yes --- he WAS a handful, but also a very, very sweet little guy.
No one has a shorter attention span than me. I only put one or at the most two rows on my many projects every day because I can't stand doing anything more. I line them all up and go to town one after the other. It takes me ages to finish anything but I don't care.
