Day 26, 2015 Preparing for a Blizzard

Excuse me, weather folk who like to bring added drama to the impending east coast snowstorm....
I've yet to hear one of you say to get your knitting ready!~
Yes, flashlights, water, wood and food matter, but what's an emergency kit without yarn and needles?
Get ready!  Find a pattern, find your yarn, fluff the pillows and enjoy the weather imposed downtime ....
*****
I finished a pair of fingerless mitts for Izzy yesterday.
I knit a hat for her in the fall and intended these as a Christmas gift to match.
She was thrilled nonetheless.
The yarn is actually two yarns that I blended together.
We watched Life Itself, which is Roger Ebert's story of courage and love.
The THUMBS up duo originated from Chicago so we have that special tie.  It is a wonderful movie.
Fireman shopped while I had a cold and he brought home jelly beans. (Not unusual as he loves them.) However, these are BRACHS conversation heart jelly beans.
I'm here to report that the white ones are coconut flavored.
Remember:
U Rock and
XOX?
They are still there and now we have:
LOL, too.
Conversation Hearts were the ORIGINAL
clever text vocabulary words.
Right?

Have never seen those Jelly Beans before.
I have been having mouth issues (I think it is TMJ as I have been dealing with it for a long time).
Just glad we don't have to greet the blizzard that is supposed to be going to the East Coast.

Lots of memories connected to conversation hearts. I haven't seen the jelly beans. I try to avoid the candy aisles from Sept. - April, as it is too hard to avoid purchasing the treats.

Hope you are felling better each day.

"XOXO" Jelly Beans, I am "CRAZY 4U"!! The snow storm promises to be "2 COOL" and "U ROCK" in your preparations for it. Be "HAPPY" and know that I am "CRAZY 4U".
We were suppose to get hit with a storm this morning, but it only hit half the city - and not the half I live in! Still grey and dreary here!

Sounds like the east coast is preparing for a whopper of a storm. That's right, Kathy, get that knitting ready for some winter-storm weather!!

The fingerless mitts look great. Can't beat a good hot drink in winter...and love that picture of the tree with the snow packed background. A lovely scene. Enjoy your Jelly Beans.

Must get those jellybeans!
I wish we were having a snow day, but an inch isn't going to do it. Sigh.

I'll take some PINK ones. LOL

(Of course, black are my favorite jelly beans, but I'm guessing they wouldn't be very Valentine-like.)

We are projected to get .005"-.25" here in Suffolk, VA. (And it's 50 degrees right now), but that's not stopping everyone here from freaking out and stocking up on water! Hope y'all up North enjoy the real snow! I miss it sometimes

Valentine jelly beans - sound good to me. Love the fingerless mitts. I'm still working on my Forza scarf and we're not having a winter storm, but it is cooler this week. Will be in the 60's and 70's - which will be a big disappointment for all the people coming for the Super Bowl and expecting higher temps.

Conversation Heart Jelly Beans? Did not need to know this, but they will make an excellent treat for a nice friend of mine. I love that you used 2 yarns on those handwarmers. They look cute and cozy!

However the thing that is making me a swoony right now is that mocha? hot chocolate? Have you tried the new Flat White at Starbucks yet? Maybe with one pump of flavor -- as to limit the sugar for me:( We must discuss Kathy B!

Love the jelly bean idea. Is it supposed to blizzard there? My friends in Boston are hunkered down.

I hope the storm isn't as bad as the weather forecasters say. We had a "Snow-mageddon" here where they were saying it was going to be terrible snow.. and.. nothing.. happened. ((hugs)), Teresa :-)

I want those beans. They look awfully yummy. We've got our part of the storm upon us now and it's a bust, like Super Storm Sandy was. Damn weather people. All that hype for a bit of sleet. I'm so disappointed.

Those jelly beans sound way more tasty than the original! Haven't seen 'em here though. But then Chicago is always ahead of the game. Are you really going to get snow?

I keep saying I'm going to make fingerless gloves for work. My hands are so cold right now.
