Day 20, 2015 Looking for COLOR

My Fireman gave me some Lorna's sock yarn for Christmas
Katherine sent me some needles a while back.
I'm sock knitting!
What? you say.  She just said she was going to knit a shawl.
Or a snood.
Well, I have to keep you guessing right?
I looked at my stash and the Lorna's just wanted to be next.
Yesterday was a terrible day to walk at our Botanic Gardens.
The little girl in her hand knit hat and scarf made it worthwhile.
Isn't that hat darling and isn't the matching flower perfect?
I was looking for color in any capacity.
The dogwood was nothing short of brilliant at the Gardens.

The paths had sand on them and were squishy mixed with icy.
The air was damp and grey.
Lovely eh? Life here is pretty much a black and white movie for a few more months-

Some snow is on the way for tonight.
I suppose the Gardens are amazing draped in fresh snow..
but, I can assure you I won't be going back until the brave little tulips show their faces...in April.

I'm starting to crave color, too. It has been dreary (foggy and/or overcast) here the last couple of weeks. :o(

It's good to have a pair of socks on the needles. I should probably do the same! That little knitted hat w/ flower and scarf is just precious on that little girl. So cute. I got a kick out of your "black and white movie" world. I get it!! And it lasts too many months, for sure.

Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr....the gardens look SO cold. It's been a cloudy day today and even though it is not terribly cold, it FEELS cold. I can't get my hands warm. Maybe I should be knitting up some mitts!

How are you liking the Lorna's? I've made several with Lorna's. LOVE IT --- but I have one pair made out of one skein that are totally different. It's a blue/green blend and the right sock is more blue. The left sock almost TOTALLY green. Weird!

Someone loves that little girl as her hand knits are beautiful. Good luck with the sock.

We went to the Zodiac room at Northbrook Ct the other day for an early celebration of my mother's birthday (it is actually today). My three yr old niece (who has hypoplastic left heart syndrome) came up to me and told me that she was wearing a dress that I made her. My other niece (who was there) is 11 and she was visiting from out of town and she stated that I had knit her a number of dresses and sweaters too. It was like they were competing. Then my father piped up that I had just knit him a cap (he is in his 80's and is lacking a good amount of hair). It was kind of funny.

I love that sock yarn Kathy! Hearing you switch your projects gives me some validation and you know me... I'm cheering whatever project you cast on that makes you happy :)

Good job on the knitwear in public pic. hehe.

Hi Kathy! Love the red dogwood, I had planted some in my old garden back in England! (At least there was a bit of colour in the winter).

Hahah, you are like me! Whenever I see somebody wearing some interesting knitwear, I do a double take!!! (but so far I've never photographed anyone!!)

Happy sock knitting!

My neigbour has a bush with red berries on it - it's just stunning against all the grey and white.

You were very brave to head out to the gardens in the cold! Just the thought makes me shiver.
