Catching Up

I took a picture of this shawl for the Knit Shop's blog but I thought I'd share some eye candy with you.
We have had a summer full of laughs since Al arrived, with Ginny from Virginia, and Zach returned home.
We had great weather for our bar-b-que on Saturday.
Fireman did spray the yard with an OFF product that hooked up to a hose.  It seemed to keep the mosquitoes at bay for most of the guests.  I came away bite free, but I was in the kitchen quite a bit.
Dayna and Nick showed up with Jello Shots in strawberries.
They came with two buckets full.
They were yummy and a great fun surprise to the menu.

Last night we bundled up, that's right, we needed jackets, and went to the ABBA revival at Ravinia.
Oh we laughed.  We danced.
I knitted a bit.  You are the Dancing Queen…..

Zach is home and his dog bites are still deep but healing.
He gets his own classroom this fall and we are thrilled for him.

Al and Ginny return to Virginia tonight.
There may be some tears….
and there may be a cheer up yarn purchases coming….

I've managed to read your blogs and comment a bit, but
it has been a whirlwind here. :)

What have you been up to?

Whooo...weee on the yarn candy. Very pretty.

I'm so happy that you are having lots of fun and laughter with your beautiful family. Looks like a great party.

ABBA!! Oh man, that's some of the best "get up and move" music! Love it!

Sounds like you've been really busy and I can understand your need for a yarn purchase to calm and soothe you now. Think we've all "been there and done that"!! Enjoy.

Life has been all about the beach for us these past few weeks. I've been working on setting some fall resolutions for myself and the #1 resolution is to "SLOW DOWN". I have overbooked myself all summer and I feel the creepy tenacles of burnout nipping at me.

Safe travels to Al on her journey back home. Congrats to Zach on having his own class this year.

Oh I love to dance to Dancing Queen! Our crazy family can do the whole dance routine from Mama Mia. Your party looks like such fun and Al gets more beautiful every time we see her!

Sorry every one has to leave you after such a wonderful weekend. Comfort yarn purchases are allowed. Safe travel Al and congrats Zach.

Dancing Queen.....now that takes me back to some good times. I hope there weren't too many tears at the goodbyes. I can totally relate.

I would be singing along with ABBA and definitely dancing to the music! Great memories.

Lot of sewing happening here and very little knitting.

Kathy: on your Aug 13th blogpost, you showed a hat you knitted and I loved it so much I bought some yarn and ready to cast on using your pattern. Do you know how many stitches you cast on? I bought a skein of Lorna's Laces from a seller on ebay and it arrived today. The color is Christmas at Downton. Thanks for your assistance.

An ABBA revival? Seriously? Why did I not hear of this? I can belt out "Fernando" with the best of them. (Probably just as well I wasn't there.)

Hope your nest doesn't feel too empty - some cheer up yarn should line it nicely.

Lots of naps here, with a bit of cycling between thunderstorms. :)
