Frozen Chocolate Pie or Do I Have Your Attention Now?
We all know I am not a baker. I am however, good at desserts which do not require baking. Is there a name for me?
Yesterday afternoon, on a whim, I went to the store for the ingredients for Chocolate Cream Pie. Fireman gives it a 10.
I haven't tried it yet. Well, I guess I tried the Batter, if we are being completely honest about this. The batter was decadent.
Here's the recipe. (oh and my second Trap is well underway)

Chocolate Cream Pie
Ingredients
- 1 ready made graham cracker crust
- 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1 1/2 cups sweetened dark chocolate, chopped (or you can use the baking chips)
- 1/3 cup heavy cream (milk can be substituted)
- 8 ounce container of Cool Whip
Instructions
- Melt chocolate and cream in the microwave for about 45-60 seconds. Remove from microwave and stir until chocolate is completely melted, creating a chocolate ganache, if needed heat for an additional 10 seconds.
- With a mixer, cream softened cream cheese and powdered sugar together. Add chocolate ganache, reserving out about 1/4 cup for the drizzle on top of your pie, and mix again till all combined.
- Still using the mixer, on low speed, add in Cool Whip. Once combined, pour filling into crust.
- To drizzle chocolate. If chocolate has thickened, place back in microwave for 10-15 seconds to liquify. Place melted chocolate in a plastic bag and then cut a small hole in one corner of the bag. Drizzle chocolate over pie in the pattern of your choice.
- Refrigerate pie for at least 4 hours before serving

Way to go on the knitting! Looking good!
I used to have a favorite that was very simple --
One graham cracker crust
2 containers fruit yogurt
1 container of Cool Whip
Mix the yogurt and Cool Whip. Put in the graham crust and freeze.
It was really cool and light for the summer weather. But, I don't make it anymore. We don't eat Cool Whip or any processed foods much any more.
I love ice cream sandwiches, but I rarely purchase them because I have little self-control.
Ohhh Im going to try your yogurt fruit pie!!!
1 angel food cake cut in cubes(buy at store)
1 can cherry pie filling(others can be used too. Lemon is great)
1 pkg, instant vanilla pudding
1 1/2 cups milk
1 cup sour cream
Cool whip or whipped cream
Cube angel and put half in 9 inch square pan. Spoon pie filling over top. Top with remaining angel cake cubes. In a bowl, combine pudding, milk and sour cream and beat until smooth. Spoon over cake. Chill at least 5 hours. Can top with Cool Whip or whipped cream. Serves 9
