Many Many Years Ago

A long long time ago I asked Fireman for a skein of angora.

It was not cheap.  I loved the colors.
In two words, It itched.

I looked at it for years.
Then  2 weeks ago my friend Linda said she would line it for me.

Today at Spay Neuter she handed it back to me lined in fleece.
I'm so happy.
What a concept.

Hmmm is it possible to line an entire wool sweater in fleece?
I think not.
Darn.

One of my friends lined a vest with parts from a felted sweater, so I think that you could probably line a sweater with fleece. (Or maybe even an old blouse?) It would take some sewing and some patience, but I think it might work.

Oh, I think you could line the sweater with a variety of materials... fleece might be just a bit more bulky that you'd like. How about a lighter fabric...with silk in it? Those pieces that your friend lined look really warm...must be perfect for the present weather conditions!!

Oh that is pretty! Looks nice and cozy, too.

It must be the month for long ago projects to have their moments in the spotlight!

I have no idea if you can line an entire sweater. No doubt sewists can answer that question better than I do. :)

Holy Toledo! I've never seen anything like that! What a wonderful idea, to line an itchy fiber with fleece. It's really beautiful too. I know you will enjoy wearing it and this is perfect weather for it!

Great idea! And evidently, your lining the sweater idea isn't so wild after all.
Pretty! I have never worked with angora..that must be fun to wear now after it is lined:)
