My swap package from Kim arrived yesterday. 
WOW.  

I love the shawl pin, the yarn and the buttons. 

She hit one out of the park!  (Go Detroit Tigers) 



I have some knit problems....

I ran out of yarn for my long fingerless. 
I think I'll rip them back.....
I think the yarn is well suited for fingerless but I don't have the heart to begin again today...

I frogged the Vest I showed you a bit ago.
The arm holes were just awful looking.
You were supposed to cast off and then in the next row do a backwards loop cast on....
my loops were enormous.  What did I do wrong? The good news is that I was able to save all the yarn.....by carefully frogging it. 

I also frogged a shawl I had on the needles.

Yarn beware!  
Last week I donated two huge bags of yarn (mostly leftover skeins) to a friend who makes Prayer shawls for her church. She was delighted. 

I gave some novelty yarn to a friend at work who enjoys making dog sweaters and people scarves. 

I feel all purged....
but I also can't decide on a project. 

I think socks.  
Maybe Ripple socks. 
I don't know?

Any suggestions for projects with sock yarn?????
I cannot believe how antsy I get without something on my needles!

Purging is a good thing, and it's something I do often. If I know I will not use something, I give it to someone who will. I know your friend appreciated your yarn scraps for the Prayer Shawls.

You will find some perfect projects for the frogged yarn.

Well, I always fall back on knitting washcloths when I feel adrift in what to knit, but you are so much more accomplished than I am in knitting, Kathy, maybe your go to project is socks :)

I've got a bad case of startitis myself. I bought oodles of fall colored yarn and now I need to get the projects going before fall has passed me by. I just cast on 3 (!) pairs of socks and yet another sweater.
Good luck with the project hunt. That's always my favorite part of the process. Go spend some time on the pattern pages of Ravelry. That'll do it.

That backward loop cast on always stymies me too. Donating for prayer shawls is a good thing and should make you feel very good. Now to cast on.... I like Nancy's scrap socks that is if you didn't give away all of the yarn scraps! Anyway, socks are always a good thing to knit when you can't think of anything else to knit!

I am jealous of your purging. It is a good, good thing. You are a frog queen right now! But yes, I feel itchy without anything in progress on the needles. I say cast on TWO pairs of socks. One for autopilot and one that is a little more "interesting".

The Knight is purging too. The former page's room is now the office and there's lots of boy clothes for GoodWill.

No knitting advice here. No knitting happening here.

There are so many patterns! I have such a hard time choosing. I'm sure one will catch your eye and you'll be off! I admire your purging. But, so far, I'm not willing to part with any of my stash. LOL! blessings ~ tanna

All that frogging...that just knocks me off my feet. Good for you, though. At least you'll put all the yarn to better use on a new projects. Socks are always good. I used sock yarn to make the wristlets, which I really like. The Hitchhiker scarf is a good project too.

If you make that vest again, cast off for the armholes and when you cast on use the knitted cast on, it makes for a sturdier cast on edge, you may have to turn your work to do it but it is not a big deal, just turn it back when you are done.

 Is that vague enough for you?  It has been a too busy complicated Spring.  I had no energy to blog.  All is well now, so I can share some things with you:   1. Insufficient Information

Dear buddy nurse and spay neuter pal Linda, came to visit yesterday.  We knitted. We laughed.  We shared books we are reading. She Showed me her scarf.  It looks like a shawl but it is a scarf. Here is her yarn choice. And the( OUCH) price.   It makes her happy to knit.  If Linda's happy I'm happy.  I dont' know the pattern and neither does she.  Her dog literally shredded her pattern.  She was at a point where she had memorized the easy part and she's nearly finished.  So there you go, anyone know the pattern? You are all so sweet about the move and the house.
