Waiting for the New PEEP
It has been awhile since a PEEP stepped down.
At the beginning of history The Just Born Candy company announced the First Peep.
It was , what is now known as the Tradtional , Yellow Peep. However, White and Pink Peeps soon followed.
Most Peeps are conservative and prefer the traditional Easter Basket calling it home.
In 1998 the BLUE peep was voted in as the world watched and white smoke poured from the factories.
As recently as 2002 a chocolate Peep was voted in to Candyland.
While black smoke can occur when Peeps are used around campfires in the non-traditional mode of
S'mores making.....
no smoke at all is preferred.
So we watch and we wait in this Season of hope....
for the announcement of our new Peep.
Some feel it is time for a more radical Peep. Many candylovers have left the Basket in recent years
turning to the Cadbury caramel egg, for comfort and solace.
IF the PEEP is to continue to lead the world in sweetness, let the leaders choose a bold new Papa Peep carefully.
Afterall there is nothing worse than a stale Peep.
The advent of nutrasweet has tainted the candy world.
THe new PEEP must be fresh and willing to inpsire a world weary of Biggest Losers and counting calories.
Will it be an another Italian Peep? With so many sweet followers in the Latino Community one wonders if the
new Peep should replace the Pepito....
sqaushing the gourd followers altogether.
So we wait and we watch and we wonder
Surely the New Peep will greet the world before Easter....
sweetening the hearts of all its followers.

I never was a Peep fan because of the outer texture. I read last week that a Peep has a shelf life of over a year without getting stale.

I think all Peeps should be yellow. Having said that, I also think that Halloween Peeps, Christmas Peeps, etc. are WRONG. I'm a holiday lover, but have my own personal set of rules as to what is acceptable ...
I ask you, what's not to love about a sweet little lump of pure sugar shaped like a little chick?

My boys like to put the Peeps in the microwave and watch them expand.
I've also heard that Peeps make great s'mores!
Oh, kathyb. I love you so.
