Something Different Here at Kathy B's
First some knitting.........
This is Karen's cowl for her daughter. Karen and I decided we probably all have this Homespun somewhere in our stash..I always have a skein of Homespun somewhere.... don't you? It is kind of a knitter staple in our knitter cabinet......like dried oregano....or something
Karen modeling the unfinished cowl....
I can see how gorgeous the pattern makes this textured yarn knit up. Karen has a knack for many things Yarn.
Now for something completely different. (Monty Python Fans unite) Remember when we thought Monty Python was wildly irreverent? Fireman and I saw the Book of Mormon last week.....there is a good message in the madness... but oh the madness is not for everyone.
I've digressed again.......
Because I am a very very very monogamous knitter and I'm knitting a big blanket.....I fear I won't have much to show you in the coming days...so
I will turn to chocolate and other such goodness.
I made a crockpot chocolate cake this weekend.
Oh my . Oh my . Oh my. ( there is a hotel in Chicago called the O-Mi Hotel.....as long as we are being irreverent)
The cake was so moist and so good.
We'll call this Recipe Testing
Testing 1.2.3.....
My only suggestion if you want to try this decadent dessert, is to be SURE you let it cool completely before you tip it over onto the serving plate from the pot.
Or you will have cake that lacks in presentation but remains delish!
I think my love of crock pot comes from my growing up with an Easy Bake Oven. I LOVED that oven. I was the Queen of Easy Bake cakes......
they always came out great.
I give this recipe and Easy Bake 10!

Homespun is the yarn the was suggested that we use when I was doing the prayer shawls. I made a throw for both my mother and my mother -in-law and a former sister-in-law with Homespun.
My brother saw "Book of Mormon" in NYC and loved it, but he thought it would be a bit too over the top for me. The parts he told me about were really funny. And the overall message seemed quite good.
Love Karen's cowl. What a good idea for all that Homespun I have in the stash!
I watch Monty Python on my Kindle Fire all the time! One of my favorite diversions.
:D
I also invite you to my blog. ;)

Homespun was one of my first used yarns, but I find it scratchy.
Love the new font too.
Hugs,
Meredith
Also, we saw and loved The Book Of Mormon. I got a good laugh out of one of my mormon friends' complaints that people would pay so much to see the show, but wouldn't accept the real book for free.
