Friday Finish and Fun

This is the second leftovers hat.  Finished.  I'm casting on with more leftover yarn this afternoon.  I love using it all up.  Because...then I get to justify more yarn.
Every year I save the Holiday Cards.  The next year I cut them into
tags and make a punch hole in the corner for a ribbon.
Here at our cozy home we are trying for a
New Year's Card this year.  Al will be
here for a bit, and Zach is coming home
from Mexico in 8 days!  Or 8 crazy nights if you want to look
at it that Way!!
I'll hope to get a picture of them outside in the snow
together.....
Beatles is used to going out with his harness on, so he may
get in on it too.

Are you sending cards?  I dont think they are
a must each year for us, but this year I'd like to make it a photocard year.
How about YOU???

Yup! I have the cards and need to order stamps. I'll get them - 100++ - written and addressed this weekend, I hope, then stamped once the stamps arrive...

I love photo cards, so I started doing them a few years back. Last year I had two different designs and it was stressful, deciding whom got what. This year, one card, but no pre-printed greeting. The back (I use flat cards) is blank so I can write a personal message like I used to in the "old days".

Over the years, I have slashed my card list, and now it is a manageable size. I usually write cards as I receive them - it's less stressful and my notes are more thoughtful and specific to that person.

I've been saying I am sending cards this year but can't seem to get around to it. If I don't soon it will be too late.

I print our labels each year and have fun finding the craziest Christmas clip art available. It never fails to get a few laughs from the recipients.

Can't wait to see the pictures of Al and Zack having snow fun!!

Another warm hat and more scraps out of your stash, you must feel great! I've never sent out cards because I feel that it is something that will be more natural to do if I get married someday. Then I would rather make one of those newsletter style Holiday cards that has pictures of the past year and updates on big events. At the same time I think that people really love classic holiday cards too.

I'm not so good at sending out cards.

No cards for me. It always seems to be such a great thing, but then I think about the work involved and change my mind. Thanks for the comment.

I was thinking about doing cards this year. I am a bad card-sender, and it would shock my family and friends if I did. :)

Love the hat - I like using bits and pieces up. So glad the kids are coming home. We did photo cards this year - kids, dogs, family - it was fun. I can't wait for them to arrive so I can see them in person! g

Kathy, love the tag idea. I did not send out cards last year for the first year ever...I felt guilty. So I am going to make an attempt this year if I can get my self together.
Hugs to you and I bet you are so excited to have them both home very soon,
Meredith
