Free Lance Knitting.....Never a GOOD Idea Here

 But first, a little Holiday.....
Beatles came right back in from the screened porch this morning after begging to go out.  We only got a dusting of snow but I think it is very festive.

My holiday Santa Salt Shaker...just because
and it wouldn't be Christmas without the holiday Soap.  My mom always bought cute holiday soap for the guest bathroom.
I love to continue that tradition.  Often these are hard to find.  Yesterday, between coughing and sneezing, I found some at a Department store.

Now for the knitting.  Karen, my knit teacher and pal, mentioned the other day that Free Lance knitting is never a good idea.

So what did I do last night?  Free lance thumb gusset on the fingerless I'm knitting.  Guess what?  Karen's right.  It's all coming undone today.   The good news is these are not a Christmas gift, so no pressure added.

The workend is approaching and I am glad most of the Holiday prep is done here.  I saved some baking for when I felt better.   That means some food prep in the days ahead.  I do feel better.

The other morning I met my dear High School friend,  Eileen,  for coffee.
She laughed and whined at the same time, that she has to make the spinach stuffed tomatoes.  Seems no one else in her family is going to make them unless she does.  She can't fathom a Christmas without them.  She can't stand the thought of making them.

Seems a free lance Christmas is never a good idea either.
Somethings just need to stay the same.
What are you making and dreading at the same time?

Strawberry cake. It's the Knight's grandmother's recipe, and somehow, I'm the only one who can reproduce it. It's a pain in the neck to make and even though I'm on about year 10 of this tradition, I still get nervous and cranky!

Free Lance Quilting is never a good idea: I just finished a project that I dreaded and disliked. Now, I am glad to say is behind me.

Ah holiday traditions, every family seems to have their own, some of which seem completely strange to everyone but the family, at least my family has a bunch of them that no one else can understand. Glad to hear you've been having fun!

Freelancing a knitting (or any other project) can go from loving the creative process to sheer anxiety. What seemed like a good idea can work out well - or become disastrous. That's my take on it. You've got a 50/50 chance of having something you're proud of!

Cookies. I love to gift them but hate to make them. I am dedicating Sunday to cookie making and dreading it. I will be deathly ill from sugar shock by noon.

We will be at three different places on Christmas Day and each asked me to bring my cornbread casserole. Guess what I'm going to be doing on Christmas Eve.

A relationship.I had my first "date" in decades last week and can't stop thinking about it. One minute I'm smiling and happy and the next minute I'm scared to death.
Merry Christmas to you and your family, Kathy.
