Yosemite and Sequoia Knitting

 Park Ranger Bodie was thrilled to hold my knitting when we entered Sequoia National Park last week.     I have some great images to share with you in the coming days.  As a Midwesterner all my life, California and the Sierra Nevadas  came as an entirely new landscape for my eyes.  

It was the trip of a life time.  It is hard to choose words to describe the vast and undisturbed beauty of our National Parks.   We met many European's who shared our amazement.    Below is El Capitan,  which I did not free climb or solo climb.  I enjoyed it with my eyes to the top and my feet firmly planted in El Cap Meadow.  
I knitted all the way along our 7 day trip.  The Mitered Baby Blanket squares were an easy portable knit along California's roadways.  

We were thrilled to see a Black Bear Mama and her cubs on our first day in Yosemite at dusk.  Our sighting was brief but will be remembered always.  I was not able to catch her or her babies on the camera.  I hope I've stored the memory and it cannot be deleted from my mind.

The trip went without a hitch.  The Sequoia trees were all I hoped for and more.  Our lodging in Sequoia
and Yosemite was lovely.   We stayed in Wawona at the historic Victorian hotel grounds in Yosemite.

Hantavirus warnings were almost everywhere.   I managed my anxieties well and took comfort in the fact that we were no where near Curry Village where the small outbreak has occurred.

Much much more to share if you are interested.   I'm back to work this evening for just one night and I have new Yosemite bear socks to wear with my scrubs.....

Happy 30th Wedding Anniversary Fireman.....It was a perfect trip.

What an amazing place. I visited the Summer I was 11 - from the UK. I have very few photos but my memories 28 years later are still crisp and clear. I would give anything to go back, but alas my health won't allow it. I shall have to relive my memories through your photos.

So glad you got out West! Those are two of our favorite places. Was there much water in Yosemite Falls? The first time we took DH's folks there one August long ago, we were shocked to find it totally dry! Did you get up to Tuolome Meadows? Or do any other hiking?
I'd love to see more photos; it's been quite a while since we were last there.

Happy Anniversary! I am glad your trip didn't have one hitch and that you were able to see some bears, too.

Aren't Park Rangers fun? Bodie looks like a good sport.

Amazing trip to celebrate your 30 wonderful years. You should be so proud of 30 years in this day and age. I bet everywhere you looked it was breathtaking. I have never been there but I would love to go. Welcome home,

 Is that vague enough for you?  It has been a too busy complicated Spring.  I had no energy to blog.  All is well now, so I can share some things with you:   1. Insufficient Information

Dear buddy nurse and spay neuter pal Linda, came to visit yesterday.  We knitted. We laughed.  We shared books we are reading. She Showed me her scarf.  It looks like a shawl but it is a scarf. Here is her yarn choice. And the( OUCH) price.   It makes her happy to knit.  If Linda's happy I'm happy.  I dont' know the pattern and neither does she.  Her dog literally shredded her pattern.  She was at a point where she had memorized the easy part and she's nearly finished.  So there you go, anyone know the pattern? You are all so sweet about the move and the house.
