A Little BIt of Crochet

I offered to help a nurse in my doctor's office finish her baby blanket.  She wanted an edge crocheted and she didn't' know how to crochet.  She always comes out to the waiting room to see what I am knitting.  She's a young girl about Al's age.

So on Tuesday I ran over and helped her out. She was so sweet, so grateful.  She grabbed her blackberry and vidoetaped my simple edging.   She had knitted two blankets, one for each of her new twin nieces.  Her sister lives in Ireland now and she's off to meet and visit the new babies this coming week.   I did one blanket, and she called to tell me that night, that she mastered the other.

Last night, when I finished a second baby blanket square, I felt like crocheting the next square.  I  was reminded how fast crochet is compared to knit...it is fun to know how to do both....

The teacup in my garden is a gift from my sister in law, Barb.  

I'm still working on the pattern swap details.  I will post about it Monday...after the worked!

Bless you for helping the young nurse.

I would like to master crochet, but to me, it is too fiddly. I know if I sat down and made myself do it that it would be easier, but I'm not that motivated yet.

You are just so lovely helping her out. I bet you land on youtube with a how to crochet a simple border video. I love that I can do both knit and crochet, it widens my options so much, and I never get bored.

love the tea cup---I am crocheting a large granny square throw from all my scraps of Kauni and Zauberball, and any other yarns of that scratchy rough consistency and yes it is faster then knitting!!

I like crochet for that very reason... sometimes.

Love that teacup planter. Wish I could have one that either squirrels or dogs didn't ruin.

Passing on fibery knowledge is always a lot of fun! It is even better that she actually figured it out and was able to finish the other one. Now if only I was able to take crochet lessons from you!

Love that tea cup! That possum photo is hilarious...looks like it could use a pair of gloves, don't you think? That's an interesting square you made. What is separating the rows of garter stitch? So nice of you to help with the crocheting! (Doing and teaching!)

Isn't it amazing how fast crochet goes? But still, the clean tight finish of knitting wins over the speed of crocheting for me. I learned to crochet before knitting and knew, after mastered both, that knitting would always be my fave!

You are very sweet.

Your tea cup plant gave me an idea to do that for my Mom for her birthday!

 Is that vague enough for you?  It has been a too busy complicated Spring.  I had no energy to blog.  All is well now, so I can share some things with you:   1. Insufficient Information

Dear buddy nurse and spay neuter pal Linda, came to visit yesterday.  We knitted. We laughed.  We shared books we are reading. She Showed me her scarf.  It looks like a shawl but it is a scarf. Here is her yarn choice. And the( OUCH) price.   It makes her happy to knit.  If Linda's happy I'm happy.  I dont' know the pattern and neither does she.  Her dog literally shredded her pattern.  She was at a point where she had memorized the easy part and she's nearly finished.  So there you go, anyone know the pattern?
