3rd Pair of 2012 Socks off the Needles

Pattern: Simply Ginny by Anna Peck
Yarn: Paton's Kroy Socks FX
color: 57210
Needles: Signature Double points size 2

Well I hope they wear well. I didn't enjoy the yarn or the needles. Yup, those expensive Signature double points and I are not going to be best pals. They are too stiff. I must say their super sharp point is the only reason I kept knitting with this yarn. I think any other needles would have split the strands...so that's to their credit.

I"ve already started my next pair of socks. (In Koigu and Claudia's Hand Paint....for the bounce of it all) I'm going to stripe them. I'm oh so happy to be back to my wooden double point 2's .

I try to think of the Signature Needle cost like this: It isn't even one round of bad golf....
and it is not like I'll never ever use them again. Still they are sinfully expensive....
and I wish I did like them. On the upside the yarn was free from a friend....
I try to look on the upside....

Are you rationalizing any yarny purchases Today???

No yarn for me today.

I think I'd probably like using those Signature needles, but I haven't justified the cost yet. Guess I'll just stick with my Hiya Hiya metals. LOL

Your socks look GREAT! I love the color.

No yarn today, or this week. I have to be on more of a yarn budget, not a yarn diet just a budget. As for the needles you may like them more with other yarn. Love the socks.

Love the socks. Don't love metal needles; they're cold in my hands when my hands want warmth, and they're warm and unforgiving in the summer heat when knitting isn't exactly the perfect pastime to begin with...

Also love your new header. Very cute photo.

I have no yarn purchases to rationalize and don't see any in my future.

Whatever they are made from the socks are beautiful!! I love Claudia's Hand Painted yarn and have several pair of socks made from it. They have worn very well but as I said yesterday, not so happy with Paton's Kroy!

I like my Signature circular needles but not so much I would pay for DPN's. Anyway, I'm still hung up on Comfort Zone double points.

NOt yarn but a special something for the person I have in the swap---but i think it will be a fantastic idea.I never justify yarn purchases, they are as necessary as tea, bottled water, and dark chocolate!!! your socks are great, so far this year I have knit zero socks!!

Nice socks, Kathy! No rationalizing this week, but on Valentine's, yes; Dee and I did our share of stash enhancing despite our pledge not to succumb. Oh well, it was really, really fun. How's that for rationalizing? LOL PS Very cute Beatle-photo

I rationalize all yarn purchases with, I don't get paid money for what I do every day. I will pay myself in yarn. :)

3rd pair of socks already?! Wow. I'm jealous. I need to get to work on some scarves to donate.

Good for you! Those socks look so comfy! Love the pattern, too.

No yarn purchases to justify. I'm still working on knitting from stash.

Love the new header and socks. I can't justify the cost of Signature Needles. I love my Inox gray's dpns, addi Lace and ChiaGoo bamboo needles.

Your cable socks are so pretty! 3 pairs of socks for 2012 already...you are off to a great start :)
They look great with blue jeans. That's one of my top criteria for hand knitted socks ;)

Way to go! I'm almost done with my 3rd pair, too. I did a pair of socks with that yarn... it was not the best to work with, but the socks are VERY warm.

PS: That is one VERY contented looking cat on your header. Is this Beetles? If so he has REALLY grown!
