A contest: Enter by sunday night july 31

I realize this is quite possibly the least pretty thing I've ever posted, but I have faith, oh such faith, that it will felt phenomenally.

I tell you something: my hands and fingers hurt from the wool and wooden needles. It was not better with addi turbos...either. Whine whine whine... all for a great finish. I have great luck with felting...and I am not afraid to say it. You must ask for what you want to come to you. I'm nuts, yes, but I still believe it.

I'd like the bag to to be pouchy...you know? Any ideas on this for me before I cast off and sew the sides of the bag together??? I'd like it to be an easy answer....okay? That's what I want to come to me...easy answers...

Then I am going back to my light as a firefly lace stole in water colors......
I think I'll have a contest too. Since I am going to the post office on Monday anyhow...

SO leave a comment...any comment.. and you are in the drawing. (scrabblequeen sorry for the rambling confusion..I deleted the original part of that first post...
you are already in for the comment you nicely left . )

Come on ..IM comment hungry....

I wish I had a better understanding of what you were loking for, with respect to both the bag and the lace....Are you using a pattern for the bag? A lace pattern, or a pattern for something lacy? Is it just my fuzzzy brain?

Because the top is knitted at a tighter gauge it should felt slightly poofy. I have knitted several bags and the one that was poofy was similar to the one you are knitting.

Remember depending on the yarn it may take more or less time to felt.

I think it will felt nicely. If not.....you can add a lining.

I love lace!

My hands have a hard time with big needles too. Anything outside of the size 4-8 range is tough to work with. At least with the big needles it goes quickly!

When felting first became popular I saw a pattern in a magazine. I knitted it exactly according to the pattern. Except for the exact wool which we don't have here, but I used a good felting wool instead. So then i carefully felted it according to the instructions. it turned out too tall and skinny-it looks like that hat in the "cat in the hat".

Oh my! The only felting experience I have are accidental, so I can't give a proper advice on that matter.

Love the picture of the young Robin on the statue. Sorry birds freak you out, although the ones you described do sound like something to be avoided.

Do all the bird pictures on my blog make you nervous?

Actual birds in the wild don't scare me - except for the nasty geese and swans. Anyone with any intelligence would want to avoid then. LOL

Bats are another story. A little bat flying around makes me want to dive under a blanket.

Well now that you felted it, it looks pretty good!!!! I think it felted very well. I've only felted one thing, a purse that turned out pretty good, but the long strap stretches when I put anything inside the bag. Plus I recommend a lining or anything you put in it will get fuzzy.
