Winding down

My sister's blanket is nearly finished. I have the ends to weave. She isn't one for fringe, so I won't be doing that. Seems I should do something. Maybe crochet a border? Maybe put 4 big tassells on the four corners. Any ideas?

It is big and drapey and very soft.


The yarn is SMART superwash. Made by: SandnesGarn. The Pattern is the Cape Cod Shawl from the Prayer Shawl Companion book. Easy peasy 3x3 ribs on big needles. The cost of the project, around 130.00.
My sister bought the yarn. I tried to talk her into something less costly, but she was set on getting the yarn then and there. It is really going to be a snuggly soft blanket for her.

Besides the finishing ,there is the transport to Minnesota costs. Any ideas for cost - saving here? I may have to wait until someone is driving up to see her, to get it there. I imagine cost will be pretty pricey whether USPS or UPS or Fed Ex. Hmmmm. Thoughts? Ideas???

Personally, I wouldn't add a border or tassels unless your sister requests it. She may prefer having it just as it is. (I would) It looks wonderfully soft. Nice Job!

No matter the carrier, I estimate it will cost about $15 - 20+ to send.

Great job!! That's quite a project. The Knight has an afghan I knitted for him, and he has no border at all, because that's how he wanted it.

The largest flat rate box at the post office? Shipping can be a bother!!!

Wow, you sure finished that fast! I agree with Nancy and wouldn't do anything more unless your sis asks. My DS who mails lots of stuff with his business says the post office is the cheapest....personally, I'd want to hand deliver it to see my sis's reaction. I know that's not always an option though......

Now to wait until next week after I work this weekend, and gently put it in the mail....I think we agreed that will be mose cost effectvie! THANKS YOU GUYS!

 Is that vague enough for you?  It has been a too busy complicated Spring.  I had no energy to blog.  All is well now, so I can share some things with you:   1. Insufficient Information

Dear buddy nurse and spay neuter pal Linda, came to visit yesterday.  We knitted. We laughed.  We shared books we are reading. She Showed me her scarf.  It looks like a shawl but it is a scarf. Here is her yarn choice. And the( OUCH) price.   It makes her happy to knit.  If Linda's happy I'm happy.  I dont' know the pattern and neither does she.  Her dog literally shredded her pattern.  She was at a point where she had memorized the easy part and she's nearly finished.  So there you go, anyone know the pattern? You are all so sweet about the move and the house.
