knit this summer for the NICU. Molly you did a great job. They are the perfect size and perfect washable yarn choices. OOPS > PLEASE SEE MY COMMENT BELOW.....CHANGES IN POLICY PREVAIL. But Molly they won't go to waste...





These are Kim's picks from the Red Team swap box. I love the carved wooden crochet hook! I am always amazed at the cute stationery out there for knitters. Sarah get ready for the box to get to you next and soon.






Lastly this is how things are around my house lately. Rosalyn and Radar know how to enjoy a warm radiator!

NEW POLICY

OUR NEW BACK TO SLEEP PROTOCOLS IN THE NICU DISALLOW ANYTHING BUT A RECEIVING BLANKET TO BE ATOP OUR INFANTS. THIS IS TO SET THE CORRECT EXAMPLE FOR PARENTS. THE NEW SIDS PROTOCOLS SUGGEST INFANTS SLEEP IN SLEEPERS WITH NO BLANKETS. WE USE THEM IN THE NURSERY BECAUSE THE INFANTS ARE ON MONITORS.
ALL OF MOLLY'S HARDWORK IS GOING ......SOMEWHERE ELSE. I AM ALREADY LOOKING FOR A GREAT PLACE TO GIVE THEM TO. I AM HOPING SHE WILL LET ME DONATE THEM TO OUR LOCAL ANIMAL SHELTER FOR HOMELESS CATS WHO LOVE A REAL BLANKET.
SO NO MORE ISCU / NICU HAND MADE BLANKETS.....FOR THE GOOD EXAMPLE TO ALL

Toasty kitties! Good policy for the NICU. I was always afraid mine would become tangled in blankets so I didn't sleep much as a young Mom. How easy it would have been to just put sleepers on them.

My ALlison actually napped on that radiator......I agree it is lumpy, but she is either part cat or nuts!

I don't know how you keep up with current trends in infant ... sleep practices. Seems every time I talk to a friend with a new baby, something has changed!

What is the definition of a "receiving blanket"? Does it have to be thin flannel?

Yup

Our nursery wants a receiving blanket, the little flannel one, only, on the baby. We can still decorate the incubators or isolettes with a blanket. Somehow this seems strange to me. Eventually the blanket could be misused, so I will guess that we will not be doing that much longer either. I wrote a Rav thread about it this weekend and the reactions were swift and strong! Dont shoot the messenger I thought!

 Is that vague enough for you?  It has been a too busy complicated Spring.  I had no energy to blog.  All is well now, so I can share some things with you:   1. Dear buddy nurse and spay neuter pal Linda, came to visit yesterday.  We knitted. We laughed.  We shared books we are reading. She Showed me her scarf.  It looks like a shawl but it is a scarf. Here is her yarn choice. And the( OUCH) price.   It makes her happy to knit.  If Linda's happy I'm happy.  I dont' know the pattern and neither does she.  Her dog literally shredded her pattern.  She was at a point where she had memorized the easy part and she's nearly finished.  So there you go, anyone know the pattern? You are all so sweet about the move and the house.
