So, fireman thinks you are my pretend friends, and we know that is the best kind right? Well dear blogfriend knitters, I've been thinking. Since the kitchen will be completed just DAYS before Christmas, and since I am hosting Christmas brunch........I think there should be no cooking in the kitchen until Christmas. After all, it will never be cleaner . Why clean twice?

WAIT till Christmas to cook! Then it'll be clean AND it'll be a gift to cook in the new kitchen AND a gift to eat the first meal prepared in the new kitchen!

Excellent idea to leave it clean for Christmas! You've survived this long without the kitchen - what's a few more days??

(I agree though with the comment about turning the oven on before - they do often have that yucky first run smell)

Isn't eating raw the new big health craze? Tell Fireman you're giving it a try and see what he says. He'll probably want to eat out every night until Christmas!

definetly do not cook - in fact never cook again. go out, get take out, order in, whatever it takes.

Love it! I've never heard a better reason not to cook. I vote to wait but maybe check to make sure the stove, microwave, dishwasher etc. all work. Discovering that they don't would sure put a crimp in Christmas brunch.

Wait but be sure to test everything out ahead of time. Not sure how you do all that testing without cooking, so maybe I'm saying you should actually cook something.

You are stronger than me. When we finally got to use our new kitchen, which was supposed to be ready by Thanksgiving and wasn't, I couldn't wait to cook.

We always have Christmas dinner at our house and after missing Thanksgiving I was ready for the smell of fresh baked rolls, pies, cakes, cookies, etc.

Wait and cook on christmas, perhaps with a bottle of bubbly to "chrisen" it, like a ship in England - give the kitchen a proper entrance and celebration before cooking can officially begin..perhaps even a ribbon cutting! (plus you can knit while you're not cooking this week!!!)

 Is that vague enough for you?  It has been a too busy complicated Spring.  I had no energy to blog.  All is well now, so I can share some things with you:   1. Dear buddy nurse and spay neuter pal Linda, came to visit yesterday.  We knitted. We laughed.  We shared books we are reading. She Showed me her scarf.  It looks like a shawl but it is a scarf. Here is her yarn choice. And the( OUCH) price.   It makes her happy to knit.  If Linda's happy I'm happy.  I dont' know the pattern and neither does she.  Her dog literally shredded her pattern.  She was at a point where she had memorized the easy part and she's nearly finished.  So there you go, anyone know the pattern? You are all so sweet about the move and the house.
