Here is the first of the cabled socks in alpaca...I continue to love the color and the feel. I decided to make the sock for my little fat Hungarian feet. I made a round toe and when 24 stitched were left, I divided them and did a 3 needle bind off. This allows for my wider with feet. I am not certain is looks good when it isn't being worn....that is why I didnt show you that part....
I am not sure about it. I may frog it....

This frugal Hungarian felt pretty miffed the last time I sent a flat rate box for 4.95 at the post office. The USPS beat me. It would have been cheaper to send it in another way. THe postal woman clerk tried to tell me that I should think of it otherwise because I didn't have to pay for the box. Still not happy, I decided to beat it bigtime.

Im sending a package to a friend who reads this blog, and it is tiny and heavy.....Here's hoping I beat the system this time.
I'll letcha know!

(Cricket is such a treat. Im walking again! My back does feel really good this week? Cooincidence? We'll see)

Looks aren't everything. I have short, fat Scot-Irish feet, and I can assure you that how socks fit and feel matters much, MUCH more. Don't frog. Share the pattern for short, fat feet everywhere.

(You see, my feet aren't wide... they're puffy. I can't wear short, WIDE shoes, but many, MANY shoes are too "shallow" for my fat feet, like those sexy ballerina flats that are back AGAIN to mock me...)

And we need more Cricket photos. Really.

i got lucky the other day where the postal women got me the box and cut the shipping in half... and seeing it was just magazines and fabric for my mom to play...i was happy! Love the color and soft looking texture of your sock!! Still giggling at the model, my MIL and i have an ongoing joke, each year i hide a gnome somewhere in her yard, she never knows when or how big/small. We try to find an ugly one as she is kind of freaked out by gnomes, lol. Me? i like them!

How many people see the foot of your sock when you're wearing it? Is it comfy (what a dumb question, it's made of alpaca)? Comfort is king!

The sock looks comfy and warm and that's what socks are all about! It's no coincidence that you are feeling better. Puppy love is very healing! You'll be dancing after a week of Cricket love.

I'm with the rest. If it fits comfortably inside your shoe, then that's it, unless Buster Brown still lives in your shoe along with his dog Tide. Then it might get crowded.

OK folks, are any of you old enough to remember the ads for Buster Brown shoes?

I like the colour and the cable. If it is comfortable, don't frog it. Make sock no 2 and wear them instead.

I think little fat feet are much nicer than looooong thin ones. The socks look just right! Love the photos of Cricket!

 Is that vague enough for you?  It has been a too busy complicated Spring.  I had no energy to blog.  All is well now, so I can share some things with you:   1. Dear buddy nurse and spay neuter pal Linda, came to visit yesterday.  We knitted. We laughed.  We shared books we are reading. She Showed me her scarf.  It looks like a shawl but it is a scarf. Here is her yarn choice. And the( OUCH) price.   It makes her happy to knit.  If Linda's happy I'm happy.  I dont' know the pattern and neither does she.  Her dog literally shredded her pattern.  She was at a point where she had memorized the easy part and she's nearly finished.  So there you go, anyone know the pattern? You are all so sweet about the move and the house.
