A funny thing happened on the way to the prayer shawl finish
So here is my Hungarian dad's prayer lap shawl.
I just used Encore in a foresty green heather.
I made up the pattern and kept it simple.
Of course.
The ribbed row is pretty but it did pull at the sides.
I attatched a Holy beading and picture to the YO row in the middle of the shawl.
My father and my son and my Fireman and I all placed our hands on it and said a prayer
for healing for my dad's back. I got the prayer from the Prayer Shawl book.
I made it a short one.
My dad cries easily.
He does not like to show this to the other xy's in the room.
I know he is touched and he loves it because I prayed for him when I made it.
The middle child in me thinks I may usurped my sister the favorite,
for an evening.
How unholy of me.
The funny thing that happend was this:
As I started the gift I was angry at my father, mildly.
We can get on each other's last nerve, as my baby sister says.
After I saw the white deer on vacation as I was knitting this,
my heart kind of changed.
I began to knit for him with sympathy.
I had no trouble praying for his health as
I contniued it.
This prayer shawl stuff is spooky powerful, in a good way!
I'll talk to you in the comments. :)
