Christmas in June....

Please don't hate me for this. I have knitted two Christmas/Holiday gifts. I'm just showing them off with my watermelon model to highlight the yarns.

Okay, and because I know you can't possibly come here for Knitting expertise, I do want to show you that I can cable. And, if I can cable, YOU can cable. And the yarns are Dream in Color which I did mention, and cannot recall the colorway name. See, you can't really come here for knitting expertise. The other is knit in Malabrigo Tortuga. That means Turtle in Spanish.

One of the nice things about these particular cowls, is that they both require the same cast on number, just using different needle sizes. In my brain, this is magic. I have fun writing in my life. I don't have so much fun mathing in my life. I'll take the essay questions over the math multiple choice any old day.

I get to use different yarns in short order when I knit a cowl.
I complete things.....the don't complete me.
A cowl is a great size knit WIP in the hot humid summer time.
There is no second cowl syndrome.

I'm howlin about cowlin. What are you howlin about????

I'll talk to you in the comments. :)

I love math (and writing too), guess that's why I ended up in an accounting dept. Love the cowls, your cables look great (love to do that too). Not really howlin about much right now...but I do love your models for this photo shoot.

Very pretty yarns! Cute model, too! ;) Smart idea making simple, not-too-big knits when it's hot out! And knocking off a few gifts on your Christmas list, too! Great! What patterns are you using? Are they available on Ravelry?

Here are the pattern specifics:

Cabled Cowl pattern is The Three Seas Cowl by Christina Stork

The Tortuga yarn cowl is from SixonSeven's Dolores Park Cowl.

Both are free patterns.

Love the model. The cowls are great. Cables aren't so bad, really.

The Malabrigo cowl is gorgeous. The cowls are such a good idea for Christmas gifts--easy to carry, quick, and anybody would love to get one as a gift. I wish I had thought of them before hats took over my life!

I always wondered if watermelons got chilly on damp summer mornings.

Congrats on the cables!
