Wool sock making in 99 degree heat

Al finished this sock today in our heatwave. Isn't it lovely? She used a washable wool called Gem. The pattern was in the Sock of the Month collection from the Mustard capitol of the USA. Those are my beloved pony point pearls in pink size 3's.

Well, since it feels like the sky is on fire, here's a shot from vacation for you. Stay cool. I still say this beats March in Chicago!

What wonderful socks!!!! And that sky is stunning. Sorry to hear about all the heat though - we're in for some over the next couple of days too. I'll send you cool thoughts though. :)

I have yet to try two color socks, so I am very impressed with those! The sky photos is beautiful -- sometimes there are things like that in nature that would just make the most gorgeous colorways for yarn. I'm also at a loss about what to say about 500, but if you have 5 days that are 100 degrees, that's a heatwave!

Al, the socks are absolutely gorgeous. I could never in 100 years do 5 (more or less) of those repeats in a sock. I've often wondered how the stranded socks feel "on" with the woven ends. Beautiful sunset!!!!

What a fabulous sock! I have about five hundred patterns for socks that I'd like to make, but I haven't finished one yet. Maybe by the time I hit my 500th post, I will have one or two done! Congrats!

Would that it was only 5 degrees out instead of the 500 degrees it feels like, that sock would go a LONG way towards keeping your toes nice and warm! Here's to a break in the heat and humidity! And, I would take Chicago in March right now! :-)

Wow, what beautiful sox! LOVE them, even though you're knitting them during 5 100 degree days. (Okay, I know that that was way lame, but it's the best that I could do. My brain is fried with this unrelentless heat.)

Dear buddy nurse and spay neuter pal Linda, came to visit yesterday.  We knitted. We laughed.  We shared books we are reading. She Showed me her scarf.  It looks like a shawl but it is a scarf. Here is her yarn choice. And the( OUCH) price.   It makes her happy to knit.  If Linda's happy I'm happy.  I dont' know the pattern and neither does she.  Her dog literally shredded her pattern.  She was at a point where she had memorized the easy part and she's nearly finished.  So there you go, anyone know the pattern? Every Once in a While I Might Post

 Is that vague enough for you?  It has been a too busy complicated Spring.  I had no energy to blog.  All is well now, so I can share some things with you:   1. When I shoot photos of the moon I think of Dear Teresa.  Gone too soon. She took fabulous moon pictures.  2. I did not see one shooting star last night.  I only got up for a few moments around 3 a.m.  The local weather guy said he saw a few quick faint ones.   3. How can I can have one grown child in Oklahoma under flood watch, and One Child in Mexico under hurricane watch?  On the same day.  Tis true.  4. What have I knitted lately?  I am pretty sure I've ripped more than I've knit.  I ripped out a shawl that I was making up.  It was cotton and pretty.  I need to follow a pattern.  5. I was trying to make socks and decided to make mittens instead.  I haven't worked a thumb in a long time.  I may have to frog it too.  So I have been knitting, but not making things.  6.
