Snow!

We got about a foot of snow up here in the northern suburbs of Chicago. Fortunately I made a stop at 3 Bags Full on my way to work yesterday, so I have plenty to keep me busy while we're snowed in. I'm still working on the Lara sweater; I added the stitches for the body, so the rows are now 182 stitches long! It takes me awhile to get through one row. Yesterday I bought some Berocco suede to make the cute booties Kathy and Allison were working on, and the new issue of Vogue Knitting. It will be a great day for sitting by the fire, drinking tea, and knitting!

Al and I have been trying to come up with a contest. I am so scattered lately. So, I'm going to ask a bunch of scattered questions. Cookie Sheet Blanket Contest .....

This is a call for knitters to knit a baby blanket no bigger than a cookie sheet. Blankets will be distributed in the NICU where I work. We just don't get many blankets. We need them. Traditional baby colors will do, but we'd love you to branch out a bit. Use up those leftovers if you wish. You could win a lovely prize. All who send a blanket by November 1st, ALL SAINTS DAY, you angels you, will be entered in the drawing. Here are the rules: Blanket must be made of yarn which is washable. Sorry, Hospital rules.
