I've so enjoyed reading Ellen's responses to her comments this week, and Meredith's to name just a few. I realize I rarely respond here to your comments.  I am grateful you read, you write and we are connected.  I don't mean to ask you to visit here twice.  But, just for this one week, I'm going to respond to any of your comments in my comments.  Because it is not good to howl alone...

Al was finishing this shawl when she visited me last month.  This is the FIRESIDE Shawl by Leah Thibault.  In the book : Weekend Wraps  18 quick knit cowls, scarves and shawls She did not use worsted.   I am 99.9% sure she used sock yarns from a coordinating kit.  If I'm wrong Al, please correct me in the comments.  There are beautiful 8 row repeats of diamonds involved, that don't show well in these photos.  ( I survived the First Cub Post Season game last night. Between innings I was checking on you all in the hurricane zone. In the real world.   I'm exhausted.  My father, and he and I are not on good terms, took me to every Cub opener each April.   I missed talking to him about the game last night, but lets not go there.... I don't quite know where ALL this emotion re: the Cubs comes from.  I couldn't watch Buster Posey come to the plate in the 9th ..I love Buster Posey and he's not even ...

  The Pumpkins are everywhere.  I'm loving it.  You were all so varied on the question of ghost walks.  I'm determined to take one this year in our new area.  BOO

My new favorite tree in our woods.... it is so beautiful and so old.  I'm determined to clean up the woods and let it flourish again.  So I caved.  The fingerless cabled pattern got me for the 3rd time yesterday. In my defense!  You knew there would be defense: The size one needles and fingering yarn made it very difficult to see what I was doing.  Too many cables and crosses.  Another time? I cast on another Capucine hat and I'm calm again.  Why does knitting failure bring up so emotion for me?   EEE gads

  Finished a child's Capucine.   Not sure who the lucky child will be..... perhaps a donation.  I have to finish the tassels on the one I made for me early in the year.     I'm up for the challenge of this cabled fingerless. OH my.  This means I will be doing two things at once.  Soon I'll be doing the cable chart AND starting the thumb gusset.  SO far I've ripped it back three times.  I wish I'd started with something other than fingering weight but I'm not giving up yet.  I have some quiet time this afternoon and I can maybe finally pass the 10th row of the chart... ( Oh Flannel shirt for sure.  I could live in all flannel from fall to spring.  What would Tim Gunn say? I do, however, need a PACKERS sweatshirt...I'm done with the Bears)  *Which chart is easier for you to read? Fair isle or Cables? ( Just started a pair of cabled fingerless.  I love the cable chart!) *Do you prefer a turtleneck or a cowl neck? ( I simply cannot wear turtlenecks.  What is this affliction? Just seeing a model in a turtleneck chokes me and itches me.  I have to wear scarves long and low on my neck too. This has nothing to do with hot flashes...its a confinement thing for me...weird I know!)  *Have you been on a ghost walk?  Where?
