My Little Headband….

The sled hill nearby is somewhat obstructed by the playground equipment.  You can see a line of parents at the bottom of the hill.
I had to stop by there Saturday to see all the kids having fun sledding down the hill.   Ouch, I can still feel the sting of that spray of snow in my face.  Still, we had fun as youngsters sledding didn't we?  The near crashes were exciting and the squeals were
part of the fun.
Need a headband?
Cast on 30 stitches in sock yarn, on size 3 needles
Knit in garter stitch for 15 inches.
Don't bind off the stitches.
Instead, take a needle and pass it through the
stitches pulling taught to bunch.
Run a similar line on the cast on edge of stitches and pull taught.

Bring the two scrunched edges together.
Crochet a small band and link the two ends inside the band.
Call me Aunt Jemima, but it is warm and snuggly.
Now I want some sourdough flapjacks with syrup….

I loved sledding as a kid and tobogganing as a younger adult. Now, I prefer to stay inside and watch the bobsled and luge competition on TV.

Love the headband - colorful and comfy, too.

I grew up in California - never had the dubious pleasure of snow...

Love the headband! I want one!

I must be turning into an old fuddy duddy because I usually drag the sled out for a run or two down the driveway whenever it snows but I haven't even dug them out of the shed this year. Shame on me. I hope I get another chance this year.
Love the headband. Now you've got me wanting pancakes....

Your headband is so cute! I think I need to make one. The last time I went sledding I was 8 months pregnant with our oldest daughter. I was wearing a full-length fur coat and fur hat. I looked like a big bear on a little red sled.

We have snowdrops in the gardens...quite a difference compared to your winter :)

The snow-covered hill in the background looks like a kid's paradise on a winter's day! I remember well riding a sled down a hill...over and over. Yahoo!

The headband is very cute...and just the ticket for protecting those ears. Nice way to use up scraps too. Thanks for the directions!
