Customer Service ...Cheers

So begins my little tale of woe.  Hang tight pals, it ends well.
This is how a bottle of Savignon Blanc looks on the hot pavement of Chicago in August.  and yes I did think about licking it up...but just for a nanosecond...

Oops. The bottle literally leapt out of my bag in the Target parking lot.

I break everything breakable.  When are they going to invent a rubber wine bottle?  (I know ..boxed wine is already here)

I picked up the glass pieces, and there were plenty.
Somehow the knit gods smiled down upon me and I didnt cut a finger in the process.

I took my sad little pieces back to the customer service counter and God Bless Leroy, he gave me another bottle of wine.
Way to go Target.

It's too dang hot to knit another Christmas stocking right now.
That blanket may end where it is because even when I knit on it for 3 days straight only a tiny new row of color mocks me.
And lets face it, no one in their right mind knits a blanket that's a tube and twice as heavy as the normal blanket, when it is August in Chicago.

So here you go: I'm knitting an orange sock.
I'm happy and I'm not complaining.
Summer is hot and by its very nature means more of us knit socks.....
Are you knitting things on tiny needles ?
What have you broken lately?

We are having a very temperate summer so I'm enjoying knitting on 'winter' stuff--I do have a summer tiny needle sock project when needed! And I haven't broken anything lately (knock wool!).

Stella would love that sock; orange is her favorite color. You need to come to the PNW to cool off! It's 57 at the moment, and I, too am finishing up a couple of sweaters. I almost broke a sewing machine needle last night, but I did finish Sophia's nightgown. (Actually it's shortie pjs.) I won't tell you how many socks I have going........

Good to hear that Target replaced the wine: I wouldn't have thought about taking the pieces to customer service.

Like Judy, I recently broke a needle on my sewing machine.

Wow, your Target sells wine? Of course, I live in PA where all the liquor laws are ridiculous! Love the orange sock - looks like a creamsicle. Nothing recently broken, though I'm sure I've jinxed myself now....

Oooo I love the orange sock! Such a pretty color. I chose to knit a sweater in pieces (sides, back, sleeves)for the same reason. I can carry small pieces that don't make me feel weighed down and hotter.

I broke a stoneware bowl at Bethany's house on Sunday. It bounced beautifully at first--one, two bounces, then crack. I'm so glad the Margaritas were in a plastic pitcher.

I don't even like orange (Kim in Oregon can back me up on this), but that color is delightful. Quite summery.

My "small" needle right now is a 4. For socks.

That was nice of Target. I am taking time off my knitting projects although one was easily fixed. One needs major concentration to fix and the other I frogged again for the fourth time so I'm working with my crochet G hook.

I'm glad you rec'd good customer service! It makes such a difference to your day.
I don't break so much as constantly spill! I am knitting socks...never tired of socks.
As soon as I get home, I will turn my little stash of leftover sock yarn into a blanket...I hope you and Dee are satisfied cuz it is your fault! lol

Well, I'm always knitting socks so, yes, there ARE socks on my needles.

What have I broken --------I guess you could say I broke one of my car's tires. I got a nail in my tire somewhere up in north Florida.

Tell Delighted Hands I will GLADLY take the blame for her blanket startitis!!! LOL

Very nice of them to replace a bottle you broke.. no fun to pick up broken glass. I like the color of the dreamsicle yarn. I'm taking my sock yarn and bronze DPNs to the lake.. wish me luck. ((hugs)), Teresa :-)

I break everything all the time. I am a walking disaster these days. If I start to get attached to any of my pretty tea cups or coffee mugs it's a sure death sentence. At this rate the kids won't have much dishware to worry about when my time comes.
I love the orange sock. I am still working on my giant Aubade pie shawl with tiny lace yarn and itty bitty needles. I can only work on it first thing in the morning or I just don't have the patience. It'll be years before it's done.

I live with a breaker of things, especially glassware. I break my child's spirit. It's a mean Mom thing.

I was sad for your Sauvignon Blanc puddle, but I think it so so fantastic that they replaced it for you. Yay! I hope you put some ice cubes in there!

I can't blame you for not wanting to knit anything bigger than a sock right now. That heat sounds suffocating. I do love your orange sock. I'm thinking it reminds me of a summer creamscicle or dreamsicle in some parts. Do you like those? mmm!

Ugh! Glad you did not cut yourself! I have had the "dropsies" too - I broke a plate this week and this morning a glass bottle! No injuries, but gah - I hate breaking things!

Also, bravo to Target for replacing your wine - that is some amazing customer service!
