I love the look of blankets that are all one natural color but I don't have that kind of patience to knit one myself. I think it's because blankets take longer and I just can't commit to one color for that long. Not sure what that says about me...:-Ohttp://www.creatingwithwool.wordpress.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8588167.post-48957612057002042102013-07-25T21:04:32.577-05:002013-07-25T21:04:32.577-05:00I admire people who stick to one thing and perfect...I admire people who stick to one thing and perfect it. I'm too flighty to be that single minded but the few folks that I know who are like that turn out some awesome things.
I do use the same yarn a lot. When I find something that works I stick to it because you put too much work in things to have them ruined. When I saw Grandbaby's blanket that I had slaved over last week I was very disappointed in the new-to-me yarn (Lion Brand Baby Soft) I had used as it looked terrible after only a few washings. Simply Soft is my go-to yarn for baby blankets, Encore works great for baby knitting, too. Both are durable and washable - two essential traits for baby knitting. I love Opal and Cherry Tree Hill for socks, but I tend to branch out more with sock yarns and purchase unknown types simply because of colors or how it feels in my hand.Nancyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18296050573667055406noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8588167.post-32637229835873776492013-07-25T14:52:39.458-05:002013-07-25T14:52:39.458-05:00I have my favorites, but I do like to step outside...I have my favorites, but I do like to step outside my comfort zone once in awhile with yarn.

I have an Aran afghan I knit when Stephen was a baby. I can relate to that a little bit though, because I most frequently knit dishcloths and only in cotton. The idea sounds especially relaxing, and uniquely beautiful.
