Let's Go There.....

Miss Allison finished her leftovers cowl.  She ended up with a mattress stitch seam and she's good to go.
I dont' know if she used a formal pattern.
Probably knot!
Hi dolly!

Okay here's the discussion I didnt want to have....
Does anyone own a comfortable bra?
Since my weight is changing, I need new bras.

Perhaps because My first bra experience was humbling....
er humiliating...
I hate bra shopping.

My mother and my year old than me, well developed sister and I went to Marshall Fields.
The bra woman measured my sister and then glanced at me,
and said,
maybe a training bra for that little one.

I hate how they dig at my back.
I hate the straps
I'd rather go braless anyday but that's not appropriate most days.

I also cringe at the prices.

SO .....
who makes a comfortable bra?
Oh and I hate padding.

Love Al's cowl and the fact it's from scraps. Well done!

I just went through the bra dilemma two weeks ago. My "girls" need support, and it's difficult to find a comfortable bra that doesn't result in a uni-boob. I've found the cup sizes are NOT consistent even in the same brand, so that was frustrating. I'm still not satisfied with the result, but it's the best I could do here in the middle of Wyoming with only online shopping for intimate apparel.

That cowl is beautiful. Very well done. Goodness do I hear you on the bra dilemma! Last year when I got my pacemaker every. Single. Bra that I put on rubbed over the incision. It hurt! I went braless for about a month and then decided I couldn't do that any longer. People don't like it! Although I'm not very big on top myself and didn't think it was noticeable. My husband took me to Macy's, where the lady measured me and I paid big bucks for a bra. I wore it all of 10 minutes when I peeled it off because I was in so much pain. I ended up buying some of those pull over bras that came three in a package from the Blair catalog and I wore those for almost a year. And then wouldn't you know just two weeks ago I found two very comfortable bras at Walmart of all places. I wish we could just go without. Here's hoping you find something comfortable soon.
Blessings, Betsy

Allison is so pretty!!! She is a master knitter and her scarf is gorgeous.

Bras--I hate them too, which is why I don't wear them if I can avoid it. I'm small enough to get away with a Genie bra most days and when I'm really craving comfort I opt for a tank under my shirt. When I wear a sweater is about the only time I feel compelled to put on a traditional bra and I hate it because NONE of them are comfortable! I've lost some weight but I'm not sagging on top because what I have are more hummers than hooters. I haven't decided is that is a good thing.

As a long time feminist, I burned my bra back in the day and haven't owned one since. My girls like their freedom.

I went through this a few weeks ago. The bra that I have been wearing for a long long time (by Olga) was discontinued - arghhh!!! I ended up buying two bras at Kohl's - one by Lilyette and one by Olga - very pricey - but one was half off during a sale and I had a coupon. But still too much in my thoughts! And neither one is comfortable - whaaaaa! So I'm still on the search....

I am right there with you with hating bra shopping. For years I wore a sport bra made by Anita from Germany. http://www.anita.com/shop/en_us/sports-bra-momentum-7d6fe4.html

But, lately my shape is changing and it wasn't very flattering. Because I am trying to lose weight I went with Playtex bras from Macy's. They were on sale.

At some point years ago I revolted...but told no one. I have been happily wearing over the head to get on sports bras. If anyone noticed and thought ill of me for doing so, they have never dared to mention it to me, yet. Ha! I feel so bold!

Your daughters scarf turned out great. Bras are the worst to try to buy.. good luck on that. Teresa :-)

I HATE bras. I don't wear one unless I am skating and then it's a stretchy sports bra. I buy clothes that hide what I need to hide. Lots of tucks, pleats, pockets and embroidery in all the right places if you know what I mean. In the winter I just put on a fleece vest. Of course, I am lucky in the fact that I have little to hide.
Allison's cowl is so chic. I want one!

Ooh, awesome infinity scarf! I haven't been fitted for a bra for years. I usually went to Nordstroms as they measure you in the dressing rooms. I think if you really want a good bra, one would have to go to a specialty store to get measured and invest.

Sympathies abound on the brassiere front! They are all wild colors and padded to boot-not my style at all. Just keep searching and you will find one you can tolerate!

The cowl is a hit-just beautiful and fun to wear!

What a great cowl! You've got a talented daughter.
As for bras, I am a big fan of Bali brand.

I have the super small chest problem and I swear I could not find a bra for years, then trudging through the dreaded Walmart once I found this amazing one called the wire free bra from Fruit of the Loom, it is PERFECT!!!! And CHEAP!!!! I bought them out of my local store than went online and bought ten more. I wash mine everyday after I wear it so I need loads of them before I do laundry.
Hugs,
Meredith
