The Calm of the Lake

Somedays you need the sand in your toes. 
Sometimes you need the water under your feet. 
Yesterday we got both. 
Lake Michigan is back
Well, it never left but it seems like a different creature in winter all covered with ice blocks.  

Just plugging along on my Ruched scarf. 
It is my escape for now. 
Mindless and pretty.  

Al's doing well in Oklahoma with Nathan.

Let us cheer Teresa on!  Once she gets the multi needle task done, she's going to love it.  Teresa, if you can't seem to get them cast on , ask another sock person to start you off.

Good advice Kathy--you can do it Teresa!! I love Lake Michigan and miss it a lot. You are right, the summer lake is lovely and the winter lake is amazing. Have fun on the beach. Can't wait to see Ruched Scarf.

Your lake looks wonderful.. glad it's warm enough to play on now! OK.. the socks. I clicked to Ravelry and could not find a way to buy just that pattern. Do I have to buy the whole book? Also - to be fair, I did knit a pair of socks already, with DPNs, with cotton yarn. But it was a long time ago so it will almost be like doing my first pair. I bought a set of bronze DPNs in size 1. So, I want to use them, so I need a pattern for size 1s. My yarn ON Live "Supersocke" 4-fach whatever that means. Thanks for being a good knitting role model! ((hugs)), Teresa :-)

The lake photo is beautiful. We went to the zoo today, it was fun. Good for Teresa starting her second pair of socks, I am still not a sock knitter.

Love seeing your sandy beach, kathy b :) We had a rocky, wet packed dirt shore at the reservoir while camping, but the water was clear and cool which was a blessing on our hundred degree days! You and Teresa inspire me to want to try to start another pair of socks on DPN, but for now I am just going to cheer you and Teresa on :) xx

Sand, sun and water. A wonderful combination. Good for Teresa. I just started a new pair of socks yesterday. It's a free pattern on Ravelry called Petty Harbour. I love making socks but have never been able to keep a pair for myself. A family member always claims them first.
We'll all be cheering Teresa on, I know she can do it.

 Is that vague enough for you?  It has been a too busy complicated Spring.  I had no energy to blog.  All is well now, so I can share some things with you:   1. I'm Making Bunny Rabbits

  These are the one square bunnies .  They are a free pattern on Rave1ry.  I'm bunny making to force spring to come.  I'm a1so taking it easy on my hands again.  The med we tried did keep my hands from shaking, but it was a med for a med. and that's crazy town.  I can contro1 a hook much better than need1es.  It wi11 have to suffice for now.  I'm enjoying your b1ogs and your Spring.  This time of year I so want to 1ive in a southern state.  But this Spring is a new one for me and I'm going to find a way to 1ove it.   IT may have just gotten to 50.   Degrees.  I have to run.  There's very ear1y yardwork to do.   The birds have 1eft a rotten mess of sunf1ower she11s under the feeders.  I hope it is not frozen!  Have you been switching things up in your neck of the woods?   I haven't forgotten you, b1og pa1s.  I 1ove seeing you on Instagram .

Do You Smile When You Knit???

I am pretty sure I smile when I knit.  I'm going to think about that today when I pick up the baby blanket in progress.  I am also pretty sure I cry when I knit; well, not really.  I have shed some tears over the years but they were way back.  I surely scowl when I drop a stitch.   A time lapse of knitters' faces would be interesting enough .... Tank, aka Helo, is starting to smile around here.  Just look into those aqua eyes......they make me smile all the time. He is half Siamese and all gorgeous.
