One Knit Step Forward

Finished a pedi sock with doubled yarn.
I love how the stripes kept up.
The doubling hurt my fragile wrists.....so the second pedi sock will have to wait.

I have to say I am so much better about second sock stuff.
It isn't even a syndrome for me anymore.
Not to brag....but....I'm much less obsessive with my knitting.
I think all the podcasters have made me feel normal.
Or close to normal.

Most of them don't fuss and muss after knitting a sock.
They have piles of them unmatched and unfinished.
The knit gods have not seemed to punish them ....
and the day comes when they have a real pair of socks.
It really does.

My favorite garden shop had a makeover.
Isn't this VW van planter so cute?
They also had a sign that said,
IN DOG BEERS I"VE ONLY HAD ONE
My vet loved that.
Yes that's snow again, today but I'm not giving it any power.
See the daffodils blooming anyhow?
Who am I kidding?
I do remind myself that it isn't just snowing in my yard.
Everyone around here has the same thing, so buck up.
I swear I do not complain of 90 and 100s heat.
I sort of love it.
A long long time ago, I participated in a keychain tiny sock swap.
I lost my  blue tiny sock years ago.
Last night I decided I needed to go very easy on my wrists and so I knitting up a new keychain sock.
I should block it .
Or would that be obsessive?

How cute is that tiny keychain sock - love it. I was on a conference call this morning around 10:15 and looked out the office window it see it snowing like a blizzard! Thankfully that has stopped (though snow is in our forecast for Saturday). Really? The first week of April? Also love that sign from your garden center -- very clever!! Have a wonderful weekend Kathy.

LOVE the back of the heel on your sock!

I've never had Second Sock Syndrome, either; I'm eager to finish the pair.

It's snowing here too. If it was December I'd say it was beautiful ,actually it still is, but can be gone now!! It kinda matches my mood, though. Wednesday night we had to have our 22 year old Barty cat sent to the rainbow bridge. The only thing that made it bearable was the fact that we knew we were giving him our final gift and the fact that the vet came to our house. She was wonderful. I knew I could tell you this as you are a cat lover.. Barty was a tiny cat all his life, only weighing 7 lbs at his highest and only 4.4 when he died. How can such a tiny physical creature leave such a huge void. Please hug your kitties for me today.

Your sock turned out great! I've been knitting lots of socks myself with fingering weight yarn. My hands are a little sore this morning so I think I'm going to give them a bit of a rest and do some reading. We're supposed to have 80F today in the Pacific Northwest. I'm going camping! I''m so sorry about your snow. I would be very sad because by April I'm so ready for spring. However, I know we have no choice in the matter. Next year you could have the 80's and I'll be watching snow fall! :-)
Blessings,
Betsy

I adore your pedi-sock and I think the keychain sock is perfect the way it is.

What can I say about your snow. Certainly not this too shall pass, because our Chicago peeps feel like it's going to hang around till next winter. We are having wicked weather here again too--if that helps.

Karen 51 I'm so so sorry about your Barty cat. When they die it is so gut wrenching. Hugs to you. Big hugs to you

I like the idea of mismatched socks. Dare to be different.

I had a VW van back in the day. Mine was blue. I made curtains for it and thought I was the coolest thing on the planet. I couldn't park it though. After a few scrapes I traded it in for a Beetle.
So sorry about the wrists. I think I am dealing with the beginning of carpal tunnel myself. My hands go to sleep when I knit in the morning. Only in the morning. Weird.

I'd count the mini and the pedi as a pair. Who says they have to be the same size?

I think Wyoming has seen its last big snow storm for the year, but I'm keeping my shovels handy, just in case.

It's 80 deg. here and not a cloud or a breeze. Sorry. :-) My husband took our grandsons fishing! Me.. I am skipping swimming and relishing a few hours in a quiet house. ::happy sigh:: ((hugs)), Teresa :-)
That looks like a very cozy sock!

It was 85 and very sunny here today. Of course, the weather guy didn't SAY it would be that hot, so I was sweating my buns off in a light sweater and very dark jeans.

I looked great, but inside ---- I was dying a slow, burning death a little bit.

The little keyring sock is adorable. I wouldn't block it. It's just gonna get knocked around anyway.

I always cast on immediately after finishing one sock so I have no idea how anyone else does that but it works for me.
Your little keychain sock is perfect!
Nice pedi sock! That's what I need to start making for the summer months. I don't have second sock syndrum because I knit them both at the same time on one long circular needle. Sorry to hear it's still snowing there. If it's any consolation, it's cold down here too. Have freeze warnings out for tonight!

I have never heard of a key chain sock, I love it! That would be hanging off my key chain if I had it. Hugs and take care of those wrists.

I have been thinking a lot about pedi socks. I just use regular old sock yarn, but you use doubled up sock yarn? I imagine it could be hard on your wrists and doubled yarn is always stiffer isn't it?

Rest them well and knit happy my friend.
