Knoxville Knitting

A  lady named  Karen was knitting this beauty of a blanket at  a yarn shop in Knoxville  . (Loopyville)  Her gym shoes sort of matched as they were orange.
She said  the colors match her whole family room.
How wonderful.
I think she influenced me as I had to have this Holly and Ivy Dyeworks sock yarn in the Firestorm colorway.
I actually purchased it at the Yarn Haven
It has some blackish hues throughout it too.
It is 75%Superwash merino wool and 25% nylon.
Score!
Al asked me what I planned to knit with this...
um, socks of course.
I've been saving for this trip as Al has told me of the two great shops in Knoxville that we would visit.
I bought this Chicakeeper for my sock yarn, too .   (in Martinque Blue)
I gifted Al some sale yarn at the Yarn Haven.
I love to buy her some yarn!
My Travel nurse daughter!
Here she is having a delicious Persephone cocktail in downtown Knoxville.  Mmmmm.   Champagne and pink stuff in a darling little glass.  I tasted...I liked.

I did show some restraint.  Seriously I only bought one other sock yarn skein that I will show you tomorrow.
The Ladies at Loopyville were so very nice.
Palmer had some issues with the register so she gifted me their darling project bag . They also gave me their Yarn crawl pattern from last summer.   I'll show you that soon too.
All in all a great town for yarn.
It is springtime in the Smokies and it is glorious to be here!

Beautiful blanket. I went on a sock yarn frenzy and bought 5 skeins of 75% merino/25% nylon sock yarn tonight online. Uh-oh. But dear Hubby did hand me his credit card before I ordered. Beautiful photo of your daughter. My daughter is a nurse too.
Blessings,
Betsy

What a gorgeous girl you've got there!
And a lovely city to visit. I've never been to Tennessee.
Of course you had to buy the FIREstorm colorway. I'm sure Fireman understood.
What a great needle holder. Love those colors.

Jealous!! What fun - new place and new yarn stores. And, yes, you did need the Firestorm colorway of course. Can't wait to see your other pictures. I'm thinking a trip down to TN and the Smokies may be in my future (but first we are going to Maine in June!!).

Seeing Al, shopping for yarn, receiving gifts, and sipping cocktails - it doesn't get any better than that!
Love that blanket!! Reminds me of the sock yarn blanket I'm working on now. Isn't Tennessee beautiful?! I traveled through those mountains on my move here. They were breathtakingly beautiful!!!

Sounds like you're having a great time! Enjoy!! Our little Stella loves the color orange; she'd definitely approve of your yarn!

I love it when a husband takes his wife to a LYS. I'll be interested to see how this new sock yarn knits up. The knitter's blanket is terrific. I'm all curious now about how her living room looks. What a lovely place you holidayed at. What a cute name for that cocktail.
